Wlad separated from Haydon The old warlock has some free time on his hands now. It's the perfect match up
No way, he didn`t show anything in that fight, Ruddock left himself open and got knocked out, AJ would have done the same, so would Ruiz Ruddock was far easier to hit than both of them, after the Ruddock fight, Lewis was poor v Bruno and Tucker, he was a KO victim waiting to happen, he stumbled about off balance v Bruno often.
Himself Jesus he fought a guy who he clearly should have fought on the outside. I mean what kinda question is this. Although I would love for Virgil to whisper sweet nothings in his ear
This is all that needs to be said on topic. Moot point, Steward's dead, and he was the best I saw in regards to training fighters with great height and reach how to fight.
Lewis and Klit had a lot more tools for Steward to work with. The groundwork was all there so he just had to refine their style to maximise their advantages while minimising risk. He'd have a lot more groundwork to do with Joshua. There are also some things Joshua just cannot do that Lewis and Wlad could. Agility and range of movement for Lewis and Wlad was terrific at their size, AJ doesn't have that.
I don't think that AJ needs to change coaches. Why should he after just one loss? He's having a great career and he just lost to a guy who was the better fighter on the day, or who is stylistically a bad match-up for him. Just make some adjustments and if Ruiz beats him again he's just better. And if AJ wins nobody will talk about changing anything anymore.
Sadly, I dont see anyone on that level out there or who would be a more perfect fit for Joshua than steward was. He was great at teaching the big man to fight like the big man. Roach would do some wonders with AJ offensively but I've always felt like Freddie neglects in the defence area.
There nobody who can fix Joshua unless he finds a surgeon to give him a heart, lung and chin transplant
What would be the point in Joshua in having a Manny Steward-type teacher and guru figure on board when he can't even apply whatever tactics and instructions McCracken is issuing him in the corner?
AJ needs to go to an old fun fair in a deserted seaside resort. He should look for old coin operated booths and find one with a creepy looking puppet. When he puts the coin in the puppet will turn out to be the ghost of Angelo Dundee and he will begrudgingly agree to train AJ. Cue much hilarity before the thrilling third reel.
