    Marciano had quick hands.

Not really, He had short arms which made his fists look deceptively quick. But he needed to get in range which, with his obvious lack of athleticism, took time and he had to wind up to get any leverage from those stunted limbs. Add it all together and he was glacially slow in executing a punch.

    Nice try, tho.

Lmao he was a top athlete. Which is obvious on film…we all know why you really think he wasn’t an athlete. Maybe get the mind out of the gutter.

No, his punches were short and didn`t travel far at all, very hard to avoid, Walcott had a better defense than most of today`s heavies.

If Walcott's defense was so great why did he lose 30% of the time he climbed through the ropes?

And watching the first fight with Marciano, I would say that Walcott's geriatric legs and gas tank were why Rocky was able to land in later rounds.

Most heavies today can`t move how Walcott did v Marciano.

    You gotta be kidding me.
A.I., an excellent yet over-rated B-baller (refer to advanced stats like Win Shares, WS per 48 minutes, Efficiency Ration, Value over Replacement Player, he did not shoot well & not a rebounder), although very agile & quick...

With very short training & at 165 lbs. max. & zero previous formal fighting experience & no likelihood of having much power or a good chin you think he could easily beat, or have any likelihood to even keep Marciano off if him?!

Sometimes you are a bracing antidote to those who are unrealistic about what old timers could do against modern fighters with all their advantages-mainly in the HW division where some guys like Rocky would fight as LHWs today.

But start a thread about "Prime Iverson" with a few weeks of training against Marciano.
Specify that they would fight with maximum intensity.
Provide options including odds that Iverson could earn a decision.
Ask what the odds are that he could even last the distance.

You are solely mistaken if you think a great crossover, speed & endurance means a B-Ball player can avoid getting walked down by any top ranked, similar sized, fuhgettibout much stronger boxer.
Let alone mount any kind of significant offense.
Maybe he could run away for several rounds until getting knocked into the next millennia.
