    He may of been past it but the last thing to go is your power, Cobb is one of the few Heavyweights that can take a flush right hand from Shavers.

    Well most of those fights were early in Ali's career and the Wepner one was a slip not a legit knockdown, Ali took Shavers best whilst past his prime and never looked close to going down. Shavers hit him with his best sunday punch in the 2nd round and Ali just taunted him.

    Holyfield got decked by Cooper with a right hand, if Cooper can deck him with a right hand. Holyfield is getting decked by Shavers aswell if gets too brave for his own good.

    You might be thinking of the Bernardo Mercado fight. It had a similar ending but Earnie did drop the big Columbian.

    Tyson and Mercer were rarely fazed by occasional bombs landed. They could handle a shot from Shavers without going down. I think Mercer would weather the storm and stop Shavers mid rounds. Shavers would be lucky to even land a bomb against Tyson, and would be knocked out early.

    Ali, obviously, as he did. He looked out on his feet a couple times, but did not go down. As to others, kind of the obvious ones, Chuvalo, McCall, Mercer, Cobb. Possibly Holyfield or old Foreman.

    I agree with so much of this.

    I do agree that Shavers likely wouldn't have time to land a flush punch and would be stopped pretty early. But I see Mike getting floored by a clean Shavers right. Guys like Douglas and Holyfield dropped him. Shavers was far more powerful than either.

    But yeah, as much as I love Earnie, it's extremely doubtful he'd be able to land the big one.
