Yes they did. They both hit Lewis with their best shot and Lewis went down.

VITLAY hit Lewis with everything he had, and Lewis didn't move, just carried on butchering VITLAYS face. Says it all about how over-rated VITLAY is really doesn't it?

Best post of the thread, and the one that totally debunks the claims of the chin-checknig idiots on this board.

One could say it was Lewis that was overrated. Lewis was great, so was VK... they're both good, and so are many other skilled elite heavyweights since the Ali era.

If Lewis was over-rated then he'd have lost as a fat 37 year old to the younger fighter who'd not been in any wars.....he didn't lose, he re-arranged his face for him.

It's VK that's over-rated, due to his mis-leading KO percentage/rounds won blah blah crap. Put Lewis in with VITLAYS competition and I bet his stats would be just as impressive but unfortunately Lewis was an ambitious fighter who took the biggest challenges available throughout his career, VITLAY is just a belt-holder in a shitty division.

    What's your point?

Golota is really good because he hammered Bowe?
    Or
Golota is **** because he shat himself having to face Lewis?

    Which is it?

Larry Merchant could have beaten spinks the night Tyson did too. Spinks was bricking it.
But he was bricking it because he had to go in against Tyson, and knew what he could do.

Do you think Golota would have been that 'frozen' if indeed as you say, he had been matched up with Larry Merchant that night?

    Would he ****.

I don't know what your point is about Rahman and McCall either. Nobody is saying Lewis is "unknockoutable".
People are saying that about Vitaly.

Vitaly couldn't stop "chinny" Lewis, even though he caught him cold, and hit him with his best shots. After that, the show was over for Vitaly.

After all, we all know there's no doubt Vitlay would have gottem KO'd in the 7th..

Why would you say things that you know are simply not true, just to make a "point" that based on your shotty reasoning to begin with really isn't a point. Assuming you've watched the fight, Vitali was winning the fight, and he didn't "get his face rearranged", come on dude you know better than this.

Erm, he did get his face re-arranged....the points on the scorecards were redundant because Lewis ****ed VITLAY up.

Watch the fight again, look at both fighters faces and demeanors and you'll see where I'm coming from. **** the scorecards, Lewis won that fight in every way imaginable.

Of course you have the 'scorecards' to fall back on. Tony Tubbs said the same too, when he was KO'd by Tyson, as did Herbie Hide when he lost to VITLAY - "I was ahead on the cards, waaaah waaah"

So essentially what I'm saying is, shut the **** up about cards.

Yeah, he did get his face rearranged. The 80 odd stitches that it took to fix him up probably attest to that.

I reckon Shannon Briggs was about even on the cards against Lewis when the fight was stopped. So that fight was a draw right?

Vitlay did about as well as Briggs against Lewis. Lasted a round longer, and won 1, maybe 2 rounds more.

I reckon Lewis was "winning" the fight against Rahman too from memory.

The fight was stopped AT THE HALF WAY POINT because one guy was in danger of losing his ****ing eyeball, and swallowing buckets of blood.

If that's not your definition of having your face rearranged, what is?
