That did cross my mind but Johnson himself was at least 2 inches taller than Tyson and was far more experienced on the inside than Mike, who was pretty clueless up close. Smith was also 233 lbs for the Tyson fight and late career Johnson showed up and won in the 240s in some fights and fought pretty well at the 220s, heavier than Mike was. He was a big puncher, a big body puncher, and a veteran inside fighter. It's unlikely I'll admit but I think he has a chance and I don't think Bonecrusher was ever really a top level HW historically. I dunno, I wouldn't say it's impossible though, Usyk only just recently showed that a 4 inch height disadvantage can be overcome very well if you use the right tools.

A lot of people. Smith did a lot of clinching in that fight combined with having a sizable advantage in height and weight .

An opponents greater height can not only be overcome, but can be made to be at their disadvantage (granted moreso in street fighting than Boxing, but still some applicable level here). If you try punching sharply up or down at a target, you’ll notice your power drops off to a noticeable degree.
