Its funny how hypocritical people are. The same question could be asked of Mayweather. Who began his career at superfeather. Now he has to fight a Kilts to get respect.

He will never get everybodies respect. Honestly though...Look around this site. Mayweather fans (with mayweather avatars) are posting about how much respect they have for Manny, and *some* are actually saying...He could possibly beat Mayweather. That they have to see how Mayweather performs against JMM before being able to judge if he beats Manny.
Of course there are a few who hate him, make excuses for his win, or whatever, but the list keeps getting smaller and smaller.

    + Cotto.

If he beats PBF then Cotto @ 147, then you will get the respect from all pacman doubters.... well most of them.

No one hates him i don't think. If he beats Floyd he may be the best boxer ever.

Haters will be haters. So what if he beat the Mexico legends?? they are paid to fight.

I wont hold that against Pac, just as I wont hold Holmes beating Ali, or Lewis beating Holyfiled, or Pac beating DLH.
If 2 guys fight, one of them has to win. You should not be upset if your favor loses.

I am a big Pavlik fan, but do I make trends saying Hopkins sucks??

I am a big Taylor fan also. BUT I dont hate Froch for beating Taylor. As said before. If 2 guys fight, one will win, the other will lose. No need for a grudge if your guy loses. It happens.

truth is the haters will always have something to say even if it does not make sense. I do not believe pacman can or will beat floyd, hence the roach and arum saying this morning that fighting cotto (5th best ww) is or will sale more than floyd and pacman lol I think that in itself says alot. most of us like the underdog, i for 1 was extremely happy that he beat oscar. The difference is floyd beat them it was expected (remember he is old, hatton is small) stuff prior to the fight. pacman fights the same dudes year or 2 later and he is the truth lol. I like pacman, I respect him as a boxer, hell i respect all boxers but a clear picture is 70% of the people believe floyd will beat pacman- they are already with the excuse of he is too big, yet floyd is alot smaller than oscar?????? roach said if floyd wants to fight pacman it has to be at 142 lol yet he moved his man up to 147 to fight oscar, hell he weighed 145 on the night of the hatton fight, so p4p champs or the atg arum claims he is for beating oscar and hatton is a joke. I dont think IMO that most of the haters are hating on pacman, just the fact that because he defeated a bigger man who was well pasted his prime and weight drain with a .500 record over the past 3 years is a joke to anyone who knows boxing. final point floyd is called a cherry picker for fighting the same 2 dudes pacman fought???????? then is he defending his or any of his titles NO there talking catch weights for this guy or that guy. pacman is good for boxing no doubt however he is not the best boxer of this generation.

You think Manny could beat Armstrong?

    Isn't that pushing it...

Mayweather is good, but back in the day, there were several fighters with Mayweather's capability, but they took on bigger challenges.

Mayweather didn't invent anything new and his resume is not spectacular.

Armstrong went all the way up to middleweight......while Mayweather was reluctant to fight Margarito...

    Let's be real here.

I am not a pac hater, I just would like to see him fighting against oposition with good defenses, not easy targets, I think it would make him a very interesting fight, you can call he is the best and everything but if you match up the guy against opposition who he can show his greatest attributes(spped, punch) that shows you how great pac is, I just want to see how great he is by how he adapts in a fight in which he doesnt match everything to show his best, how well he can handle this, I think if he does it would make him a true legend, I dont know if you know what i mean, but for example I think Cotto is an easy target, the only way Cotto could win is beacause his strenght and weight, but thats all i give it to him against pac, which is very important but I have seen pac carries the weight pretty well so I dont think it would be so much of a problem, the fights that I think that it would be very interesting in because of what I just told you are: PBF, JMM 3 and SSM, those 3 guys are not easy targets and I dont know how much cappacity he has to adapt or change his boxing style change, for example for what I think Floyd is a genius is that he can adapt to any kind of fighters, he might be having troubles in the first rounds against a type of fighter but he is so great that he adapts and change his style fight in the same fight which I havent seen it from Pac, in 24 rounds against jmm I didnt see him change his style or try to figure out jmm, on the other hand jmm did because he didnt matchup well against pac but he showed us he is such a good boxer that he figured out pac and finish both fights in one of the more close controversial fights, but if you see the first rounds in both fights he was getting killed but he adapted, thats just what i want to see personally from Pac !!!

True boxing fans appreciate what the guy is all about.
If you don't like Pac you need to re-evaluate what you want to see in boxing, cause if you can't see something special in Pac you should just switch off.

He'd have to beat a live guy in their 20's at 140. Valero and Bradley fit that bill.

i think a reason might be his fans too.....i mean, here where i'm from you have fillipinos that have been following manny and manny only for about 5 years...yet they think they know every single thing about boxing possible.....

i understand if his fans get on peoples nerves, but to hate manny and call yourself a boxing fan would really be stupid.....
