If he was given the opportunity to travel back or forward in time, who would've been the best Heavyweight that Vitali would've been able to beat? How would he have compared to the best men of the decade that he debuted in? Could he have beaten men like Moorer, Douglas, Mercer, or McCall at their own respective peaks? Give me your honest opinion.

He COULD have beaten any of those guys, but he was injury prone, and that is a thing. He lost due to a blown shoulder and a cut, also had the bad back and knees.

In reality, he could have beaten any of these guys...and I would favor him...but on a given night when they he was not 100% they would have beaten him.

It's a little ironic that you posted all guys that were similarly hot and cold--Moorer with his concentration problems...Dougas who only trained for one fight...McCall who was a crackhead and had mental breakdowns...Mercer who could look so good, but stunk it against Ferguson, old Holmes, Occossio and old Witherspoon...

    Really, just roll the dice.

Consider it best Vs best. Sometimes I omit stuff in my head that I should stipulate in threads like these.

All at their absolute best....I feel like Vitali but all of these guys had better actual results to hang their hats on, so its tough to be 100%.

That's what I was going back and forth on. Was working on my H2H list again and had a hard time putting em amongst each other.

I'd favor him over all those fighters, w/ perhaps Douglas from the Tyson fight being the one question mark.

I'd also favor him over most HWs that were either CW-sized &/or shy of being truly great.

I mean if that's the thing, I always say that with H2H actual results are more important than perceived ability. One is objective and the other subjective.

You can give Vitali consistency points, though.

I genuinely do not believe that Vitali Klitschko could have defeated Oliver McCall.

McCall got outboxed by Douglas, I don't know why Vitali wouldn't have been able to.

I just don't see how it's possible for Vitali. I mean, look at him. Could he really have done it? We've never seen it happen before or since. We didn't see it during either because there was no time in which it was happening. So, how can we even imagine it if it didn't happen at all?

A lot of people, due to his size. That includes Joe Louis.

I’ve been very honest about him already.

That’s the way it should be but I’ve seen a lot of the complete opposite.
