Many tears were shed that night. The thought that Calzaghe would have the cheek to clown Jones, who never once stooped so low (and if he did you better be sure that the guy getting it was at his absolute peak and was awesome as a fighter!) was too much to take. I remember it well. Discuss your feelings.
not that i gave a **** but Roy did the same to many overmatched opponents. Karma is a *****. Calzaghes clowning looked ******ed in a funny way. Roys was just hilarious
I actually had a good laugh with Calzaghe doing that, it's just the part that Calzaghe would have nothing to do with a prime Jones that bothers me. It was sad that Jones had 1 moment dropping Calzaghe but never followed up. He was such a shell of the guy that even beat Tarver. Even as a Jones fan I still give Calzaghe credit for beating Jones but very minimal .
totally i agree. no-one can say that jones didn't have it coming. but joe picked his moment while a guy like tarver was in the right place at the right time. if calzaghe and frank warren were in the movie making busines they'd be the superstars of bollywood, though - but not hollywood..if you get me.
Even though Jones was often guilty of the same thing, it still doesn't justify Calzaghe making a fool of a shot fighter. Jones would have most likely mangled and embarrassed the Welshman had the fight happened 10 years prior. Cringe-worthy footage, honestly.
there was tears from me, tears of laughter a shot to **** calzaghe with the brittlest hands in boxing gave roy jones a complete schooling :yep calzaghe had no power in his hands whatsoever and cut drug cheat roy to pieces with pure skill :deal roy jones junior got lacyied on home soil by joe calzaghe :vonnecunt
I agree Addie. Calzaghe never would've had the opportunities to clown that much against a prime Jones, ever.
Obviously this wouldn't have happened against a prime Jones, but I found it utterly hilarious. Jones had it coming for years. I'm an American and a (prime) Roy Jones fan, if that matters to anyone.
Ah, you are spot on. We should no really talk about fights that have already happened. Not the done thing on the ESB general forum.
I found it more embarrassing than anything else. Roy did his fair share of showboating so maybe he had it coming but Calzaghe doing it to an old, shot fighter who would have beaten him handily in his prime, just didn't seem right. The fact that Joe looked like such a tit doing it, made it even worse.
