I'd say Dawson, somewhere between comfortably and just about.

Dawson easily. Beat at least 3 major champions (Johnson could have went either way). Best fighter Kessler fought was Calzaghe and he got beat pretty easily.

Dawson has a 3 1/2 star resume and Kessler has a 3 star resume.

Dawson comfortably. While Kessler and Dawson both have a few good names on their resume, Dawson is the one with a W next to them.

Obviously because if he pushes Kessler's resume it will look better for Calzaghe.

I think Kessler's resume is deeper. He's beaten a number of good fighters: Siaca, Lucas, Beyer, Mundine, Thoebla, and Andrade, as well as the competitive loss to Calzaghe. If Dawson fought Calzaghe, he would have a close loss on his record too. Even guys like Haussler and Sartison are as good as or better than Ruiz and Mendoza.

Can't disagree that Kessler has more wins over contender level fighters...but Chad's 3 biggest wins against Adamek, Tarver and Johnson put him comfortably ahead.

If Mundine hadnt ****ed around so much and Andrade had pulled it off against Bute we might be talking differently.

I think Kessler's got the deeper resume, although Dawson's got more name cred at the top. It all depends on how you measure resume.

Edit: that said, I voted for Kessler.
