Kessler was a champion when Chad was still in his diapers.

He has only two names that are mildly interesting on his CV. One is Adamek who is less than skilled but has a big heart. This however, was Dawsons best performance. Tarver was a c-actor and it was an embarrasment what happened. Dawson LOST to Johnson, so that was perhaps even more embarrasing.

Kessler was unified WBC, WBA champion before Dawson even fought for belts. Kessler is two time WBA champion having regained the WBA again when the champion (Mundine) decided he did not want any of Kessler and would rather forfeit the belt. Kessler has never been down. He has not even lost 12 rounds in his entire career on the judges scorecards. In fact he has only lost rounds in two fights his entire carreer.

Overall Kessler has a longer carreer than Dawson and he has been more tested. He has been far more dominant and looked far better overall in his fights than has Dawson.

Now I am actually a big fan of Chad and I think he will have a great carreer. However, it is biased to say that he already has a better resume than Kessler at this stage.

Kessler's is deeper, Dawsons got Tarver and Johnson which stand out, but they're age has to be considered.

Close, but whichever way you go it aint by much. I'll go for Dawson

Fair enough if that is your point of view - I don't agree with it though.

    A couple of quick points...

Kessler has had only 3 more title fights by the way, his ABC career is not that much more extensive then Chad's who's 3 or 4 years younger I think.

Dawson beat Johnson in a close fight, imo, it wasn't a robbery; it's a win like it or not.

  6. Dawson fought and beat Johnson, Tarver, Ding-a-Ling, Adamek, and Harding

Kessler fought Calzaghe(loss), Mundine, Andrade, and Beyer.

Eric Harding alone is tougher competition that Mundine and Beyer.

Adamek(current cruiserweight king) is better than Andrade by a mile

The only Hall of Famer in Kessler's bunch is Calzaghe

Tarver and Johnson will both make in the HOF someday as possibly Adamek.

The better competition goes to Dawson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

70% in favour of Bad Chad, good to see.

However, that all changes when the horde of Calzaghe fans logs on in a few hours.

Kessler by a small margin. He has fought more name fighters than Dawson. And I think Johnson beat Dawson so the both fighters have 1 loss.

Yeah, let's see these 2 fight to settle this argument!

I prefer Kessler but Dawson has the undefeated record on paper and wins against bigger names.
