This was a close fight that honestly could have gone either way. I was wondering with the rematch happening tomorrow what the consensus is on the first fight.

Did the right person get the victory. I though Martinez won, but I wasn't outraged when the scores were read either.

You wasn't outraged when you heard Benoit's 119-110 for PeeWee?!

I had it a draw... miss that in the poll!

I don't want to be a dick or anything but we've had about fifty threads asking this same question, brother. They're all over. There was a new one just yesterday even. And a new one not long before that.

I had Williams by one point (114-113), but I had the first round even (while it could have gone to Martinez). Honestly, there were like four or five rounds that were incredibly close and could have gone either way. 119-110 for Williams was a ****ing JOKE though. That dude needs to lose his job after that ****. Clearly he was a flunky of Goosen's.

The same can be said for over half the threads in the general forum.

Yeah, you don't want to be a dick, but you are. It's better than having another stupid Pacweather thread, and besides, the search function sucks.

Anyway, I thought Martinez won the first fight because I felt he landed the cleaner, more effective punches and he got hit less. To borrow a line from Lennox, just look at the state of his face, look at the state of his face, meaning Williams. However, Sergio was gassed in the last two rounds while Paul kept on coming strong. That right there made me feel alright about Paul getting the decision, it was very, very close.

Martinez got robbed and it sucks too because after tomorrow Williams is going to be 2-0 over Sergio when it should be 1-1 followed by a rubbermatch.

Either man deserved the decision scoring on a round by round basis. Watching the fight as a whole I would say it was a draw, hopefully this epic rematch will clear things up.

I scored it for Williams by one point. But it was so close I have no problem if people scored it for Martinez.

It was so close it could have gone either way. A couple of middle and late rounds that could have gone to either guy, but I do believe Martinez pulled ahead by two points. (one round) That is my opinion on the subject

    Williams won the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th.

Okay, I had it narrowly for Martinez, but was fine with either man getting the W or a draw.

They both did. Martinez, however, didn't deserve to get 119-110'd though.
