The GGG-Jacobs fight was a different fight. GGG blocked a ton of Jacobs punches. Jacobs definitely looked more shopworn in the Canelo fight. GGG landed more big shots on Jacobs than Canelo did. Jacobs was shaken 3 times in the GGG fight. He was never hurt against Canelo. But also remember Jacobs was probably 180 lbs in the GGG fight. That's why Canelo insisted on the fine for every pound over.
Jacobs performance against GGG is overrated and it is one of the fights I don't understand at all why some think of as controversial. Golovkin won that comfortably.
Jacobs collapsed to the ground after the ggg fight and could not believe he was still standing. After the canelo fight he looked annoyed that he had to listen to the prefilled score cards.
CA did better from a technical stand point. More accurate and was better defensively. But GGG was more physically imposing and hits harder. If you notice, Jacobs was able to back up CA at times. He couldn't do that much against GGG. Overall, gotta say CA but neither guy dominated Jacobs.
I think Jacobs beat them both. He has such an unpleasant style though, a lack of urgency and consistency in the way he fights. He is awkward but he makes it work somehow. GGG did better than Canelo. Canelo missed everything he threw, looked sloppy and wild.
I think Golovkin has better victory over Jacobs. GGG was dominating the fight and it looked quite clear that he was the stronger side. On the contrary, Canelo-Jacobs fight was close as they traded punches quite evenly, though in the end Canelo fought better and deserved the win.
I would say Canelo considering he gave up 4 inches in height , 3 inches in reach and has very little power at MW. He beat him on pure skill , whereas Golovkins power made the difference when he fought him.
a kindof morale victory, true fastsmith. scores and eye test say canelo did marginally better, but you need to figure in that 3G is more of a take punch to deliver his punch kind of fighter so of course hes going to have a weaker scoreline. Thats why he knocked BIscuit boy down.
