Accomplishments and dominance. Hoya beat Chavez, Whittaker, Nelson, Quartey, Hernandez all in his early twenties. Goes on to face Mosley 2x, Vargas, Tito, Hops. Even those losses could've went Oscars way especially Tito and even Mosley 2. Hops a much bugger career middle dropped him with a body shot, but until then the fight was even.

If you're asking this, it means you never followed young Oscar fresh from te olympics eating up veterans with less than ten fights. The man was fast strong, threw mean combos, one of the best left hooks out there. He may have peaked early, but that comes with the type of popularity he has.

JMM was just surviving, Forbes tried to take DLH's head off in the first few rounds.

Would Floyd be undefeated if he fought the same fights as Oscar? I seriously, seriously doubt that. Would Oscar be undefeated fighting the exact same fights as Floyd and no more? I think probably.

It's one of those things... Oscar came up in a much better generation and he went out and took davantage of it with his talent and fame. He could get any fight he wanted, and he wanted all the big fights. Floyd may be somewhat a product of the times, but he's shown no interest in doing what Oscar did.

So does him KO'ing Hatton in under 10 rounds make him a better fighter, or does it just mean that stylistically he's more explosive and was always going to get a stoppage earlier?

Think about what you post before you do indeed post it. It's not like Oscar knocked out literally everyone he fought - he was taken the distance by Javier Castilejo amongst others - and Baldomir has a rock-solid chin.

You think Oscar struggles with Castillo??? Doesn't stop the head first Baldo. He was dominant and explosive in his prime. Technical skills weren't on par with Floyd but his power and generalship countered this.

:rofl:rofl:rofl Yea maybe I'll try and run these things by you before I post. How would Floyd have handled Oscars comp. I'm not saying Oscar5 is lightyears ahead. But in a head to head matchup prime 140 -47 Oscar is a much more complete fighter for me.

You're right, but that's sort of why Floyd pisses me off. Wasting all that talent on people who shouldn't even be expected to challenge him. His era, at least during the time he spent at different weights, it hasn't been as good but there are people that he'd have gotten massive credit for. He could make the fights. And I'd favor him to beat a Williams pre-Quintanta and a Cotto pre-Margarito and a Margarito pre-brick scandal, etc. Eh well.

You're right. Just because Forbes gave a good account of himself and didn't get beaten up, doesn't mean he ever controlled the fight at all.

All true. And that's sad for Floyd and alot of his fans can't understand this. He's had guys that he should have pushed to fight, guys you mentioned. With those kinds of wins under his belt it would be much harder to try and criticize him. He has/had all the talent to be considered among the best in the sport, but we've only seen glimpses of this against inferior opposition. ATG's need to be pushed so they can show the full spectrum of their talent.
