I'll let Adam fight his own battles as I have no doubt that if his book uses first hand french sources it will agree with EVERY single first hand account Ive seen which says Johnson won easily, going away, without even picking up his own pace, and in the process broke Moran's nose and cut his eye without himself suffering a scratch. How you somehow extrapolate this into Johnson struggling to get even a draw is comical.

"no film or video materials are held by the BFI National Archive"

    Fair enough.

"By all means feel free to keep contributing to Mendoza's delusions"

But leave me out of your personal nasty quarrels.

*This post was more of a question-suggestion. The suggestion concerning checking with the European film museums from which "lost" films are still turning up all the time is only a thought, and applies more to really interesting lost films like Greb-Tunney than to middling ones like Langford-Hague.

**If someone already has checked with these sources, okay. It is only a thought.

McVey said he saw it ( Langford vs Hague ), now he's changing his story. Funny stuff. Maybe he just doesn't know what he's watching.

Johnson won almost ever round vs Moran? I highly doubt Adam Pollack will see or write it that way. Many rounds were close, and Moran won his share, so the " Johnson won almost every round " will be shot down.

As I said the footage we can see today shows a close fight.

Johnson won every round you say? Not so.

Where did I say struggling to get a draw? Your putting words in my mouth. I said close fight.

Any comment on Johnson's cheap fouls? You can clearly see him hitting on the break. The article I posted also said he was warned for low blows. At the end of the fight there were plenty of boo's. This implies cheap tactics and fouls, and perhaps disagreement with who won.

Can you at least agree with shown video footage is close? Moran is better on the outside, Johnson on the inside.

I highly doubt Adam will write that Johnson won almost every round as you claimed.

If Adam follows first hand sources (and Ive posted plenty here) he will agree that Johnson won going away.

No, the footage shown isn't close. Johnson is in control the entire time. Moran isn't aggressive enough and when he actually fights Johnson controls the action. And again, what is shown isn't even 1/3 of the entire fight.

The boos Johnson received were from his clowning performance which as I illustrated with first hand sources most felt was beneath him given that he Moran was so far beneath him in class and skill.

So I post a plethora of accounts of people who actually saw the fight and all you can come up with as a rebuttal is an article written by a guy in 2009 who was related to Moran???

Johnson's cheap fouls? Why ignore Moran trying to headbutt and backhand? None of the papers made an issue of Johnson fighting foul but you do 100 years later...

You say Im putting words in your mouth and then say I said Johnson won every round. I did not. I said, and Im supported by eye witnesses, that Johnson won nearly every round just like you are saying Willard did and as such any idea that one fighter did appreciably better against Moran than the other is a tenuous argument at best. You are correct though, I mistook another posters comment that it could have been draw (incorrect) as yours when in fact you said it was very close (which is equally incorrect).

If beating the snot out of someone is a close fight than we should come up with another name for a even fight.

"The match was close, and Moran took the final round. A draw would have been a fair call based on the 40+ minutes I have seen"
