Who did everyone hate on here before Amir Khan ?

Dont really understand the hatred for Khan myself, but has anyone else ever been close to the level ESB-hate that Kahn gets ? :huh

Theres not many people who hate Khan, some might aim critism at him for various reasons though...

Maybe not hate in a literal sense of the word, but constant criticism, some justified but a lot of it personal or fairly petty, along with folk constantly wanting him to get beat or continuing to gloat over a KO 6 months in the past. Im talking that kind of "hating". Ive not been on here that long, has anyone else got it on the same level as Khan ?

 

Yep, he used to enter the ring in a Roy Keane shirt. No way was I going to want him to win after that!!

 

But i dont think he is "flaah arrogant and asian", and you certainly couldnt compare him to Naz in that respect.

 

Most people dont hate Khan himself... what they hate is the way, like Audrey before him, he was championed as the greatest thing in British boxing before he had done anything at all at a time when we had 5 or more world champs that got less coverage.

TV threw a shed load of money at him for what were obviously going to fights with cans when they could have used that money to showcase a dozen or more guys fighting a British/Euro/Commonwealth level.

They cocked up with Audrey and then they went and did it again, hence the hate.

 

I try and constructively critisise him but when you dealing with huggers sometimes the frustration leads you to go overboard. I've been fairly critical of Jon Fewkes, Joe Calzaghe, Manny Pacman and one or two others in the past... I'd probablyf ind things to critisise Ricky Hatton about if I didn't like him but I certainly don't hate them. By been a sportsman you are goin to be critisised no matter how good you are.

 

I wouldn't say Khan is arrogant, I think there is an element of him having it easy as a novice/ intermediate pro and not really being appreciative of that.

 

I like Khan, i've met him... he's a phenominal fighter and a nice kid. But as a boxing fan I have to learn to seperate the press releases from the reality... and thats where the critism comes in.

 

Why?

People like Mr Plow, and Snowy, if they are not the same person.

 

Man when Khan got beat down by Presscott that was it! This forum was flooded with cheers and laughters. It was like Khan was some tyrant or something similar, lol.

 

I remember that night!! All 20 odd threads on the first page were full of threads with people made up that Khan had got KO'd.

 

yeah i remember that ...xmas came early for alot of ppl on here !!
