Assuming the mother of all assumption that he really was sick, why was the fight totally scrapped? The boxing bodies do allow fights to be reconsidered if it is backed by valid medical reason, like broken index finger, or in Mayweather's case, imaginary rib injury.

    Again a Mayweather comment:lol:

And the "boxing bodies" have nothing to do with a fight being "reconsidered" its the fighters and the promoters that do that. And Campbell and his people pretty much said **** Guzman.

Probably 3 or 4 fights. the first one that I can recall was the fight against Harrison, the nagainst Katsidis (injured pinky finger), then against Alex Arthur because they did not realized that their visas are expired or something as shallow as that) and finally against Campbell.

And with that kind of record, he will definitely be in any big fight in any fighters standard.

There is nothing worse than a waste of talent because this guy has talent. He does not have any power whatsoever because his growth went up to 135 pounds but his power remained at 122 but he sure is a slickster.

Since the start of 2005 (inclusive dates), Guzman has fought 7 times. Backed out 4 times. So his back-out to fight rate is not that far-off.

NO, the commission (nevada boxing commission, etc) has to be informed otherwise they will start to give you hefty sanctions for coming in overweight. However, The boxing governing bodies (WBC, IBF)a fight can be postponed on medical grounds which in Guzzy's case as you previously claimed, was valid. (two different entities because the commission approves of the fight in their backyard while the ABC bodies is where the sanctioning body of recognition or belt is).

Example in case, had the contract not changed in the Mayweather -JMM tussle, for the first 2 pounds (if I can recall it correctly, that Mayweather was above the stipulated weight, he will be docked 10 percent of the purse and so on and so on.

Harrison pulled out on Guzman 2 before that and got tried of Harrison dicking him around and told him to **** off. Harrison then went on to get arrested soon after and never fought again(smart move by guzman).

And injuries happen and visa problems have killed more fights then aids has killed people.

Pac has ducked nobody, but I will say that he should have taken on a better 135 titlist.

At the time, I don't think he thought he was only going to have one fight there though so we can excuse him that!!

Everyone would have thought Pac-Guzman be a great fight to watch but Manny could easily walk through the less punching power Joan with a KO win. Humberto Soto was never a threat to Manny and it showed when he got wobbled by the younger Pacquiao. I think Edwin Valero qualifies in who Pac ducked not until Manny tested his power moving up in weights.

Diaz was considered a test fight at 135 at the time. He was chosen simply because he was also from Top Rank and the fight was easier to make. Had the DLH fight not presented itself in a sudden manner due to PBF's decision to retire, Pac would definitely have stayed at lightweight and fought Campbell. I highly doubt that even Pac's team could have anticipated, much less planned, for what was about to come.

It is easier for us now to look at the past and make judgments on a fighter's career trajectory and say he should've done this, he should've done that. The perspective is almost always a little different during that particular moment when a fighter encounters a fork in the road and has to choose whether to go left or right.
