When I calmed down and thought about stuff rationally (and I'm not a ******* by any means:lol:), but it got me thinking, this guy is really elevating himself in the past few fights/years.

In my opinion, I believe he's actually past on the ATG list recently, the following fighters:

    Oscar Delahoya
Tito Trinidad (can't believe I'm saying this)
    Salvador Sanchez

Accomplishment wise he's even approaching Tommy Heans, Alexis Arguello, JC Chavez, etc....It's actually amazing that he's even being mentioned in the same breath as these fighters.

I clearly have him over Tito due to his versatility, and his accomplishments put him over DLH and Salvador Sanchez IMHO.

P.S. - PLEASE don't EVER put Pacquaio in a mythical matchup with either Sugar Ray Leonard or Pernell Whitaker, that's just wrong:verysad

jones, chavez, arguello, hopkins, lewis....being a 6 division champion is such a big accomplishment... dela hoya had significant loses on his way to being a 6 time champion

He passed all those PPL and he passed Tito and DLH, hes way past DLH. I really cant say Pacquiao passed Mayweather, but when they fight it will settle it

What Pac has done in the last three fights is amazing when you consider the weights jumped (135to147backto140) but it's not as impressive in the ATG scheme of things when you consider his last 3 opponents.

Consistancy is the key here. If he continues to look as he has since the JMM/PAC controversy then he definitely belongs ahead of those guys, but at this point it's still wait-and-see for me!

I agree with Gonza, as spectacular as he look against Hatton, the fight raised more questions about how good Hatton really was; and the consensus was that maybe he (Hatton) wasn't as good as we origionally thought.

Since the fab four, the only fighters who have a solid argument above Pac are Whitaker, Chavez, RJJ, Holyfield, and maybe Lennox Lewis. Everyone else is clearly behind.

This guy has beaten more HOF fighters than any current active fighter, yet after every win people look to descredit his opponent rather than credit hi. And it only ever happens "after" the fight.

well, IMO... the only ones you can really discount are Oscar (far from a live opponent) & Marquez-2 :nut.

Hatton... he whooped Hatton's ass no doubt. Hatton got discredited by boxing fans way more than Pacquiao got praised in terms of elevation of his status.

Hatton didn't follow the gameplan. It's fact.
I said it many a time, that even if Hatton did all the things he was meant to then we're in for WAR & it could either way (though if you're betting, of course you bet on the bigger, faster puncher with the better chin!).

I think fight night.. my words were "give me 6 rounds" (Rick didn't give me more than 2.. but I was still proud of him. The way he got up after that 2nd knockdown especially.... no way you can follow a gameplan after a knockdown like that.... unless you've got Marquez's genes, God-given gift & straight-up BALLS!!!!).

The flat-footed brawler with no head movement or establishment of the jab.. was always going to get blown away! (and when you think of the only other fighters who could blow Hatton away like that @ 140, from the past, he's in good company... JCC, SRL, Pernell Whitaker (though this would probably be more of a systematic picking apart AND then a TKO!), Oscar...!

I don't see what Pacquiao fans are worried about. I mean Pacquiao-only fans have said for years that he will beat Floyd (even when Roach's Project: Pacman wasn't half-finished!) ... so what have you got to worry about? Shouldn't he go undefeated for the rest of his career until he ages overnight and gets 'past it' becoming a SHOT fighter??

He has been an ATG when he beats Barerra, Morales, and Marquez. His lagacy defining fight was when he signed to fight Dela Hoya. That was a fight that almost no one game him any chance. Heck I thought his career was over when he signed to fight Hoya. Hatton helped pushed him even further.

Not true. There's an aspect of cherrypicking to Pac's last three fights(check with Roach if you disagree) that should prevent any real boxing fan from jumping the gun just yet.

About a year ago Pac was struggling to get a decision over JMM at 130
and now he is looking invincible against bigger guys. Is Pac really that great or is it due to Roach's creative opponent selection.:think

I'm a Pac fan and I know this will sound like Pac-hating but I'm just trying to be objective!

18/20 experts picked DLH over Pac. Thats not called cherrypicking, regardless of the outcome. Hatton was the undisputed JWW champ.

Ive always said JMM is a stylistic nightmare against Pac. Pac also destroyed MAB btw...destroying of top fighters is nothing new, he's been doing it for a long time.
