There is no gameplan Hatton could have used to get a win. His chin was tough enough, he wasnt fast enough, wasnt strong enough, Pac beats him 10 times out of 10. The main worry was always if Pac could carry the weight or not, he did and there was nothing Hatton could do.

I also picked DLH over Pac and unless you're a *******, I'm willing to bet you picked the same way but that doesn't erase what we all saw during the fight, and that was a DLH that looked like crap from the first round.
Hell, the fact that he came in lighter than Pac speaks volumes.

The Hatton win gets no demerits from me. It was a Great win for Pac!

You get 2 thumbs up for that.:thumbsup

Pac surpassed Oscar... sad as it is for me to say it!
Even though before Pacman.... the only fight Oscar had been DECISIVELY, and truly beat in... was B-Hop (which consisted of a GREATER-size difference!!!). Oscar was small at 154 with that slight-frame... nevermind 160 vs. a huge B-Hop (big for 168 at the time, perhaps).... whilst Pacquiao is not small for 140... only at 147! Difference was though, Oscar fought a LIVE body. Pacquiao didn't.

But even then, look at their big-fights vs other HOFer's.... Pacquiao won almost all of his (bar 1 to Morales, and 1 or 2 to Marquez)... whereas Oscar would always fall short (Mosley, Floyd)... even if only by Split-D's!... except Chavez.. who Oscar took care of twice (though personally I feel he doesn't get enough credit for the first-win.. Chavez was still lethal then...! but after that fight he was never the same).... and Tito (we all know he got the better of Tito!).

No I picked pac over DLH, and that has nothing to do with being a *******, 90% of the pac fans here picked DLH. Thats irrelevant, you cant claim 1 thing then change your mind after being proven wrong.

What I saw was Pac's speed beffudling ODLH, end of. You can claim he was wieght drained etc, bs...weight drained or not he would have had something for the first few rounds, Pac anihilated him from round 1.

Anyone who has followed boxing long enough (or gone back to watch fights before their time following the sport began) can tell you that the Oscar who used to fight at 147 (the one that fought Chavez II there, Mosley there, Gatti there, Wilfredo Rivera, Camacho, Pernell!) was leagues above the fighter you saw on December 6th. That was a truly DEADweight fighter. A fighter who could do NOTHING.

Pacquiao may be the fastest boxer in the sport.
But Oscar was pretty damn fast when he was younger too (pre-154)... threw lots of punches in bunches, was fairly accurate & landed power-shots regularly.

You think a fight between THAT oscar... and the Oscar that fought Pacquiao on Dec 6th 2008 would be the same??? You crazy????

Hell, if you took the Oscar that showed up vs. Floyd (a past-it, but atleast LIVE) Oscar... he would've been a drastic improvement on the Oscar we saw. Why can't you understand this?

Do you not see something's wrong when 5'6 Pacquiao who has had 1 fight at superfeather & 1 at lightweight.... comes in heavier on the night than a guy who spent a lot of his career at 147?? (and fought a lot at 154.. and even went as far as 160 like 4 years ago at the time).

De La Hoya's record in mega fights is below .500 and based on that and the fact that his 5 biggest fights were losses I give an edge to Manny in legacy even though Oscar has fought more ATG's so far.

I wasnt comparing 34yr old DLH to a 21yr old DLH...who would? I dont even compare a 30yr old Pac to a 21yr old Pac. I was comparing DLH to his bouts just before that, Forbes & PBF...to me he looked the same. I analyze boxing, I watch every subtle movements they make in the ring, see their weakness & strengths so I dont just watch it for pure enjoyment. I watch boring fights to see how fighters get it done.

Ive compared DLH-PBF to DLH-Pac, I didnt see too much of a difference. DLH used the same stalking style, same slapping wider punches, same footwrk, same crouching style, even same speed as he threw those punches. The main difference I noticed was stamina, DLH lacked it and it showed...but like I said, stamina didnt even play into it, even a weight drained fighter would still give a good few rounds performance...DLH didnt. This tells me that the version of PBF-DLH would get the same beating from Pac...Pac was too fast and ODLH couldnt catch him even when he threw punches.

Besides...Pac has a tendency for making HOF fighters look shot..its the manner he beats them.

As for the weight, I said it before the fight. Oscar was a JMW, Pac was a LW, but they will weigh in for WW...so their gonna weigh around the same. Sure I didnt expect ODLH to weigh in at 147...his fault.

I already had him above Tito and Hoya in my list...Beating Hatton didnt see him move up much IMO, only because he is at a stage on my list where he is among some truly great fighters.

That win probably saw him edge ahead of guys like Harold Johnson, Tommy Loughran and Fighting Harada. But not to much further.

What's not irrelevant is the fact the DLH was weight-drained, and you refusing to believe that it had nothing to do with Pac's victory is laughable. For God's sake DLH looked worse than David Diaz.

Even Roach agrees with that and he fact that DLH came in the lighter fighter is also a clue:patsch

And you picking Pac over DLH makes you either one of the smartest posters in here or just a plain *******. After all I've read from you I'm leaning toward the latter!
