Not sure tbh, I don't know too much about his Amatuer career.

I know he whooped Tarver though.

But I can see that statement back-firing..

    *waits for reply*

He beat Tarver in the amateurs but Tarver didn't beat him at that time ?

I was expecting a Jones-hater/critic to reply, possible with a picture of Jones on the Canvas in the Tarver rematch lol

Gerald McClellan beat him I believe.

He and Tarver fought when they were about 12.

I'm pretty sure the G-Man beat him in the amateurs.

McClellan beat him by a score of 3-2. McClellann couldn't fight for weeks afterwards because his jaw hurt so bad from Jones power....this is according to Ice John Scully if I recall. He posts here and knows quite a bit about Jones amateur career as he was around Jones alot during the time frame along with alot of other great boxers.

Liles beat him at least once. Jones beat him as well in the US Olympic trials final.

He was knocked out in the amateurs,he told it to Larry Merchant in the post fight interview after the 2nd fight with Tarver.
His exact words were "anybody can get knocked out,i was knocked out in the amateurs"
