Technically yes, but I don't go along with that personally. Montell Griffin was done and had no chance to win if he was even getting up. It's a lot like the DQ loss that Terry Norris had or the one that cost Evander Holyfield gold at the Olympics. I also don't count fights that are stopped on cuts like the recent Donaire fight or Lewis vs Klitschko as legitimate wins either. Sometimes I disagree with the call and the way a fight was reffed. The Agbeko vs Mares fiasco was ridiculous. So was the Mayweather vs Ortiz match. Duran vs Buchanan I actually don't hold too much against Duran since he was dominating and had already done enough to win. Then there are cases where the judges get it all wrong like Mayweather vs Castillo I, Pacquiao vs Bradley I, Chavez Jr vs Vera I, etc.
No, the reality was he was disqualified, nothing technical about that. What are you suggesting is a technicality, and a pretty weak one at that, from the point of view of the rules of the sport.
