    Aaron Pryor :
Alexis Arguello (*2) (a former featherweight , but still needed a special mixed black bottle) , a 35 years old Antonio Cervantes (a former featherweight)

I just saw liston's top5 KOs by reznick in youtube ..
    a skinny whiteboy , Patterson2 , Cleveland Williams ,Patterson1 , and the greatest of them all !!! .. bret whitehurst !! :dead:-( .
Dicky Ryan would have put him to a test he was never put before (and managed to pass) , I say.
What a great fighter Liston was !!
Wlad at least has McCline and Austin to have some P4P fights. Liston had only crap opponents (had they fought in out time). And While Ali and Patterson were not crap , Patterson had a great mass (and some will also add : reach) disadvantage , and Ali stopped him twice (for what those stoppages really worth)

p.s : McGrain should count it as a vital watching experience to my credit.

You know who else would've been all kinds of hell for Liston? Wimpy Halstead.

You were right , I do , I watched them for you .
Now I am a Liston expert as you are and can honestly say I watched his poor fights when he beats on poor opponents who were simply good athletes with poor fighting skills who should have chosen baseball or tennis or i don't know what , just not fighting.
I have also seen his Patterson (full) fights , his only quality (relatively for him) 2 wins.
Now I can repeat the buzz around Liston is a complete idiocy and for you I am more credible now.

damn, this thread is outta hand!

How about Hector Camacho? He had a few good wins and proved his chin was great but how many really good fighters did he beat? He was dominated when he stepped up vs. Chavez, Trinidad, and DeLaHoya. He was slightly past prime vs. Trinidad and even a little more so vs. DeLaHoya.

Camacho was never stopped although he faced Chavez and the much bigger and younger than himself Delahoya and a much bigger and younger and also not too legally wrapped Trinidad .
Camacho is the only man to stop SRL , whom despite being older and somewhat blind at the time , was still much bigger than himself and was still unstopped and barely even beaten upon meeting Camacho.
Camacho was a great P4P fighter.
He outpointed Vinny Pazienza whom was a good fighter , went 1:1 (split decisions) with Greg Haugen , and also got split decisions over Edwin Rosario and Ray Mancini , he also stopped the 2 time SFW champion Rafael Limon , and held titles in 3 different weight divisions .
Sorry , but this is a good example of a very good at least P4P fighter.

Sonny was green and only had 7 pro fights prior to that.
And He was shot against Leotis Martin, and was way ahead on points plus the knockdown.

    So far we had :
    Aaron Pryor
    Sonny Liston

Now an easy one : Bob Foster :
stopped an overmatched 39 years old middleweight in Dick Tiger. Great achievement.
