Who did you feel could beat Roy Jones in his prime before you saw him get KOed?

You are right about Charles, I forgot about that as I always think of him as a heavy, But Jimmy Bivins was a heavyweight.

Holy **** I dared say something bad about RJJ!!! Put the dogs on me. Your right about Charles, I forgot about that fight as I always consider Charles really a heavy. The bottom line here is I think that Jones was/is somewhat overrated, a great fighter, super fast, hard to hit (good thing for him, as his chin was weak) but not the all time great all you Jones nuthuggers love so much. To say that Jones was the greatest of all time at any weight between 160-175 mainly because he beat another overrated fighter (although he was a very tough guy) in Toney proves your one sided view of Roy Jones. This Jones thing always amazes me? Its the same BS I hear about the Prince, Wliad, and Ray Mancini? You guys are all on your kness for RJJ, and nothing will change that. Not even the facts. FOOL!

No one in his weight class.

Some bigger guys might have a chance though I'm not so sure about that...

What facts? Open your eyes and look at the man's skills, looks who he's beaten, and how he's beaten them. It's not rocket science.

OK, so who was better than Jones at 168? If he wasn't world class at 168, who was better? In the entire history of boxing?

At 175 he wasn't the best ever, but head to head he'd be a handful for anyone, with only a few clear favorites. You don't seem to understand the difference between world-class and ATG. You saying Jones wasn't world class at LHW when he dominated the division is laughable and proves you simply haven't a clue what you're talking about.

During his prime I was about...8 or 9 years old so I always figured he'd get beaten by Tyson.

Again I was 8 or 9...and the only weight classes I knew was lightweight and heavyweight.

Yeah when I was watching the Hopkins fight, I was thinking if Hops made a few adjustments he could have done very well.

Some people act like it was a complete beat down but Hops was never in any trouble or hurt. He won a few rounds and he won those when he got Roy on the ropes, just what Tarver 1 did all those years later. Hops had a lot of trouble with his speed and he was missing alot of shots from this.

Now at the same time, Roy supposedly had hurt his hand and still won comfortably...

But I think that if Hops had gotten a rematch years later around 1999 he could have came up with a game plan to win it.

so, Toney would adjust his gameplan from "nowhere near good enough on any level to get anything done" to what exactly?

The guy got completely outclassed and shut out, what more proof do you need that he wasn't in the same league? Just because you obviously are in love with Toney doesn't mean he ever stood a chance.

Good point. Who has he beaten? Name all the ATG top ten fighters he has faced? In any class; 160-175? I never said he wasn't skilled, He is, very much so. Or I never said he wasn't the best of his time. But aren't we talking ATG lists here? So because he beat up a bunch of so-so guys, and was put to sleep by two so-so guys makes him "the greatest fighter that ever lived". or "Could beat Tyson, or ALI", and other such nonsense I have heard posted. I have see many fighters up close. Roy Jones is much smaller (thinner) in person than he looks on TV. I guess when you actually see him in person, it's hard to put him so high up on the clouds.

Hill is an ATG LHW. Top 10/15 easy.

What ATG LHW's did Bob Foster dominate?

I'll Buy Hokins as a top 10 ATG at 60 no problem with that one. How about all the ATG's Jones fought at 68 and 75. There must be a bunch as he is after the all "the greatest fighter who ever lived"

He is not the greatest fighter ever. Who said that?

Toney and Hill can be argued at 168 and 175 respectivly.
