I had it 4-2 Pavlik, but could see it being 3-3. One round that commonly gets scored for Jermain was the 1st, but after watching the fight again, that should be a Pavlik round. He established the jab, and Taylor didn't hit Kelly cleanly near as much as what he got credit for. Kelly landed more and landed the cleaner shots in the 1st.

Taylor clearly was winning this fight! Pavlik was landing a few but NOT ENOUGH to win rounds!

 

I had Taylor winning 57-56...

 

Is this because Pavlik threw and landed almost twice as many punches??atsch

You beat me to it. If this guy has such good vision, why did he think Pavlik landed twice as many punches when in fact Taylor landed more punches?

 

I don't think Pavlik landed twice as many, but those punch stat numbers are bull****. I've watched the fight 3 times since it originally happened, and Taylor did not land more punches than Pavlik. He got credit for more, which is probably why the judges all had him ahead by so much, but I really think he was getting credit for punches he wasn't landing.

Why would Jermain and Kelly both be thinking Kelly was ahead at the time of the stoppage? Why did Pavlik's face not suffer more damage? I really don't think if Taylor really landed over 180 punches, either would've been the case.

 

Maybe you should call up HBO and offer to replace compubox since you're better at seeing how many punches land.
