I was too disgusted and stopped scoring after like the 4th round. But it seemed like Rico was winning to me. He was landing more powershots imo, pressing the action, pushing Usyk back, hurt Usyk to the body multiple times imo, ect.

I wasn’t scoring but I had Usyk with a slight edge. I thought he landed the better shots when he did land them though Rico was more active

that being said, it should not have been competitive

Was trying to be fair and not an Usyk homer, so I had Rico up by a round going into the 11th. If the ref doesn't give Rico a year to recover from the KD while they put his mouthpiece back in, Usyk blasts him out right then and there. As it stands, Rico probably should have been allowed to see the 12th round. He's absolutely getting cooked in the 12th, though. You can claim he comes back from KDs in kickboxing all you want. Those are, at most, five round fights. He was completely out of it after that vicious uppercut and had nothing left in the tank. So really, the ref screwed both fighters. And yet Usyk will be the one that catches all the flak, as usual.

Already seeing mouth breathers on Twitter claiming Usyk has actually lost three times because Dubois beat him in their first match, Fury beat him in their first match, and now Rico beat him. My eyes have damn near rolled out of my head at this point.

This certainly has to be up there as a historical moment for Dutch boxing.

Yeah I wonder if this clown had the same pissed off reaction when someone rang the final bell for joshua 6 seconds early when Usyk had his ass out on his feet against the ropes in fight 1???:rolleyes:

Funny how some things are forgotten!

Usyk dug deep and pulled it off. And got the arguable GOAT kickboxer out of there! DEAL WITH IT Haters ;)

I also think he loomed great! Rico truly exceeded my expectations, even though I knew he was going to surprise a lot of people.

What did you think of the stoppage? The bell already rang, and only afterwards Lyson stepped in to stop Usyk’s final flurry:

I wasn't thrilled with it, but I was also wasn't thrilled with the time buying measures from Rico with the mouthguard or from Fury. The ref should have let it continue, but p the outcome would have probably been the same.. Still, it wasn't the worst I've seen.

It's almost like you guys see the first Usyk's fight. He always starts slow and kicks ass at later rounds. This happened in the past, this happened today. 12th round wouldn't change anything except of Rico getting hit a few more times.

Good luck with that considering how they have no case whatsoever. Why? Because as anyone who knows boxing will tell you, the ref is judge, jury, and executioner in the ring! The ref can stop a fight anytime he pleases. The ref can also count as fast or as slow as he wants to 10. The ref can allow fouls to happen over and over and do nothing. Or he can take points for ticky tack violations. It's up to him completely. He's God in the ring.

The ref clearly is moving to stop the fight BEFORE the bell goes anyway. Again though, it wouldn't matter when he waved it off. Him stopping it after the bell is essentially no different from him stopping Rico on his stool. It's not up to Rico, the bell, or anyone else if the fight should continue. Just the ref. And the ref said no. End of story.

Plus, gonna be kinda hard to convince people the ref was out to get you when you spit your mouthpiece out after being knocked down and he gave you 3 business weeks to put it back in and let the time in the round run out.

I did not see this fight the same as most on here who had Verhoeven winning handily.I had Rico winning 96 - 94 after ten rounds and i can see 95 - 95 as well. The guy doing the scoring for DAZN was way off

Rico was winning pretty clearly. He was going to get robbed it went the distance. The ref did his job at the earliest opportunity to prevent the inevitable scorecard outrage.
