That wasn't a draw. Rodriguez won that fight clearly, in all but 4 rounds. Wolak was mainly ineffective, and rarely landed the cleaner more effective shots in the fight. No one should cry about Williams winning if they scored this fight a draw, theo nly rounds Wolak won are the rounds Delvin took off.
I was rooting for Wolak, but I had Rodriguez winning 96-94. I can see the swing in this fight going anywhere from 98-92 Rodriguez to 96-94 Wolak. A lot of tight rounds. Wolak dictated the action, but Rodriguez did the better punching.
I gave the last round to Rodriguez and didnt score an even round the way Atlas did, But I am very happy to see a draw becuase by the end of the fight neither man was a loser to me...
I scored it 96-94 for Rodriguez. I think he pulled the win out with his terrific efforts in the 9th and 10th rounds, Completely clear rounds they both were for Rodriguez imo.
I had it 96-94 for Rodriguez but I can live with a draw. Excellent fight. I'd like to give a shout-out to Steve Smoger, who showed last night why he's the best ref in the business. So often these days, ref's break up the action whenever guys get inside or get a little tangled up. Every single time, he let them go at it and work their own way out. From bell-to-bell you hardly even seen him, which is the sign of a good referee.
Smoger was terrible last night, way too much illegal **** allowed by Smoger on Wolak's end, all those blatant forearm shivers, trying to lace DR's eyes, and elbowing and head charging was disgusting. The **** that was going on last night was vintage boxing in a bad way.
I had it even. Some of the rounds that people gave rodriguez- I just thought he wasn't busy enough. Great fight though.
I agree with most of this but I'd laugh if someone scored it 98-92 Rodriguez. Lots of close rounds. In almost every round that Delvin landed a few good shots, Wolak would still be pressuring, touching him wherever there was an opening.
I think most wouldnt argue with a draw including myself, but being realistically I try to stay away from giving 10-10 rounds when I see a fight. For this fight there could have been so many 10-10 rounds. But saying that I felt Wolak was the busier guy from the beginning to the end. Rodriguez landed the prettier shots and harder shots. but I felt at times he was being to inactive and just waiting for Wolak to slow down. Close fight though.
Rodriguez did not win - Wolak was controlling the action and throwing more punches. To me, if anyone won, it was him. Bottom line, this is a close fight where either guy could justifiably have gotten a close nod, and a draw is eminently reasonable and justified. To suggest otherwise is to move into fanboy territory.
