Let's face it, Khan would most likely destroy Presscott now but their is that lingering dought as to whether or not he could even if McKloskey beats him convincingly. There is also the writing the wrong. If Presscott loses, it will be very hard for Khan to then justify taking that rematch. On the other hand, if McKloskey, who Khan dominated, destroys Presscott it does make that result look even more like a fluke. I'd say the worst possible scenario for Khan fans would be a controversial win for McKloskey. Interested to here people's views though.
The Konman's fans want McCloskey to win obviously. That would give Khan an excuse to not face Prescott and not getting his glass jaw shattered for a second time, plus Khan's fans can argue "you see, McCloskey beat Prescott, who got lucky against Khan."
I truly believe under the guidence of a quality trainer, Prescott could be a future worl champion. He posseses excellent power, good hand speed, he's only 28, and he has a name even though he is ranked so low in the world. The obstacles he must tackle however, are his lack of fundemental boxing skills, and improvements to his defence and foot work. He is currently trained by his father I believe.
Dipset - Very good point. I honestly felt he had talent as well as power when he beat Khan. He might even have been where Khan is now. It's a shame when you see a talented fighter become too close to a trainer who isn't good for them. On the flip side, a lot of people said Enzo was bad for Joe Calzaghe but he was probably the best trainer for the job.
Khan won't care either way... he'll be too busy showing off his new IBF belt. "It's proper shiny innit"
I'd like Prescott to beat McCloskey better than Khan did. That's the only way that I think a rematch could be sold and seen as even slightly credible. I would like Khan to avenge any defeats he ever has, and they have to be as credible as possible when they take place, Khan may have left it too long but it will regain some value if Prescott beats McCloskey. I don't want there ever to be a reason for Khan to fight Mcloskey again, I think Paul's lack of effort in the fight, and post fight complaining, should sideline him in the same way Witter had a career on the side due to his woeful performance against Judah. Khan has obviously improved hugely since he lost, whereas Prescott has probably gone backwards. While Khan used his loss as a platform to redirect his career to something better, Prescott just stalled. So as it stands, the fight is not a good one. It should only be made if all decent opponents are ducking Khan, or if they take a lighter opponent after a tough fight (e.g. I wouldn't have complained if he had fought him after Maidana).
