I don't. He definitely ducked Pinklon, among the other contenders from 83-85. But before that, he beat everyone he could put hands on.

But the fact that Lennox didn't defend undisputed was strictly political with WBA breaking their agreement with the champion. Plus he defended the title against consensus number 1 contender in the world. If you're fighting the best in the world except you and getting strip for it, it's not good for the WBA prestige, is it.

The main reasons Lewis should rank above Holmes are that he fought the best and unified titles. He only really missed Bowe, who ducked him, Ike, who went to prison, and Wlad, who got murdered by Sanders (and Sanders missed Lewis by losing to Rahman).

This approach to ranking fighters seems senseless to me, but then, your ranking criteria is your own.

I'm curious as to how rigidly you adhere to your criteria for assessing greatness, which as you've described in this thread, is a fighter who became undisputed champion is automatically greater than one who only attained unified status, who in turn is automatically greater than a fighter who only won a single strap, who in turn is presumably greater than any that never won a strap, all regardless of who they beat, when and how they beat them.

Who do you consider as the greater fighter out of Packey McFarland and George Kambosos?

I don't care. Lewis and Holmes are a coin toss for Top 3/4 HW ever spot for me. If you rate Lewis higher than Holmes, cool. I may agree with you 3 days out of the 7 in the week.

I expected a Holmes win but this was a little wider than I expected.

It’s because they don’t like Canelo.

We established a long time ago, that you’re a stat man.

Now to any knowledgeable fan, the above means NOTHING without CONTEXT.

A word that you DESPERATELY need to LEARN.

    We rank on many factors.

Primarily on: Ability, overall resume and wins.

I don’t care about your numbers.

    Why?

Because if we just used your so called logic, we’d be rating Canelo much higher than Ali etc.

Just list their wins, incorporating the relevant context.

    Their wins are very comparable.

You conveniently left out the context.

Alvarez clearly has better wins than Holmes. I don't see how this is really arguable.

Moreover Holmes best wins have issues with Norton being past it and Witherspoon inexperienced and pre prime

Canelo's career is still going he can still add significantly to his achievements. I just hope he can just fight Benavidez I think he would still beat him to be honest but it's not looking good if he doesn't fight him.

Yeah, that shouldn't be very arguable. The argument for Holmes must be that Canelo had losses and more close fights in/reasonably close to his prime. Then it's a question is if that's enough, but that must be the argument.

Who is the consensus 5th best heavyweight on here? Top 4 seems to mostly ranked as Ali/Louis 1 and 2 then Holmes/Lewis as 3 and 4.

Guessing Foreman might be most people's number 5.
