I was just wondering who do you guys think is the toughest boxer to fight. Hopkins, Mosley, and Toney are 3 of the most toughest fighters to ever touch a ring these 3 guys would give anybody trouble. Their ability to overcome their opponents and adapt to different styles is amazing. Even coming in as underdogs they show why they're champions. I truly admire all three, but i would pick Hopkins as he shown that at his age he still gives anyone trouble and is likely favored in most fights, beating Palvik with such ease and giving Calzaghe hell. But i just wanna know who you guys pick and why.

id say hopkins, he makes u look so sloppy, just cant look good against him, and when you think you can beat him, he controls the ring so good, and all the mind games he plays will certainly get you frustrated before the fight as well as during

Toney, because he's proven it by having a higher volume of tough and competitive fights that the other two.. and like already mentioned, he'll stand infront of you no matter how big and powerful the opponent. Fighting in his style alone takes a huge pair of balls. He could be facing Lewis or the Klitschkos and he'd still stand directly infront of them and stick his tongue out in the process. :yep

You can call Toney a lot of negative things, but mentally weak is not one of them. That is one bad mofo... and if you don't agree, try saying it to his face. :!:

Toney has an amazing chin. Has he ever been hurt?

I disagree with those of you picking Toney. I think he is the least toughest of the 3. Read the original post again and you'll see he is not asking who is the toughest guy but who is the hardest one to fight.

I'd say that distinction goes to hopkins because there is really no style that you can employ that he can't counter and he has never come into the ring in anything less than 100% perfect shape. With Toney you can get lucky and have a lard ass out of shape under prepared Toney and have a decent chance or if you have the skill and talent to box and give him angles it is something that he will have trouble adapting to.

Hopkins is the toughest of the 3 - if you're talking about them being an opponent to someone else.

As good as they all are - we've seen Mosley hurt and confused (Forrest & Wright) - Toney was hurt against Peters in the second fight and is never in shape anymore. He's stationary mainly due to his weight issues - but his defense is great - so it doesn't even really matter.

Hopkins is not only hard to hit - but one of the smartest guys in the ring - that we've ever seen. He has a very good chin and we haven't seen him completely lose a fight in I don't know how long. The Taylor fights and the Calzaghe fight were very close. On top of that - he's the only one out of the 3 that haven't used any performance enhancements to assist him. Hands down it's Hopkins and Mosley is my favorite Boxer - but the truth is the truth.

You're right, I change my pick and go with Hopkins instead. That dude can be an ugly, tactical nightmare for anyone.

Hopkins has fought such a huge variety of fighters yet even when inexperienced or over the hill made it very close every time.
His only real loss was to Jones and he made that quite close anyway finishing the stronger.

While all three deserve huge props, we have seen very obvious deficiencies from Toney (against Jones and Peter 11) as well as Mosely (against Winky and Forest)
