He's just going to keep on fighting. The public will call Hearn and Joshua out. That's how GG did with Canelo. He just kept fighting. He's a pro, so just keep on fighting even if the other trinket belt holder is reluctant.
I'd like to see Povetkin who was cleared by We Be Crooks but for reasons only known to them hasn't been reinstated as #1 and mandatory. Failing that I'd like to see Parker. And if not him then Ruiz Jnr whose fast hands would give Wilder real trouble.
Exactly. As a world champ Wilder has several options. He could fight Takam, Whyte or Breazeale and if he beat them easier than Joshua did that would be something he would point to. Same with Ruiz Jnr, if he beat him easier than Parker again he would point to there. So there are fights to be made out there. The real question is who will AJ fight next year. People act like AJ has unlimited options. Not true. There isn't that many good heavyweights out there. A fight with Parker would be a big fight if only because Parker has the WBO belt. But if Joshua doesn't fight Wilder or Parker(and it would only be one fight) who else is Joshua going to fight that would be leaps and bounds better than the guys Wilder likely fight next? Sure a Joshua vs Pulev/Miller is a decent fight to make. But it isn't any better than Wilder vs Whyte/Breazeale/Ruiz Jnr. I don't see how Joshua vs Wilder doesn't happen next year. Well obviously I can as this is boxing. But it would be yet another in a series of never ending black eyes on boxing.
Stiverne is still ranked in the top 15 so he could very well be selected as a voluntary opponent once again.
Not a Wilder fan but my list of acceptable opponents would be Parker (unification) Povetkin (lol) Ortiz (no chance) Whyte to set up AJ in UK. Jennings Breazeale and Miller are also passable
Whyte, Ortiz, Povetkin......Those are all good options...Whyte is the safest and tees up the fight with AJ in 2018. Ortiz and Povetkin are top heavyweights that present a lot of risk but would be tremendous wins for Wilder that would add substance to his resume.
Luis Ortiz (who should've been in there last week - would be a slugfest). David Haye (if he beats Bellew, another slugfest, big ratings). Alexander Povetkin (in the States - a grudge match). Tyson Fury (the real champ) Joseph Parker (for another belt, but I don't think Parker is any better than the other contenders) Ortiz and Povetkin should already be on his record. Wilder already signed to fight both. If they can be cleared, I'd still like to see both fights. Tyson Fury is the 'dream' fight. Parker is only appealing because he has a belt. I don't find him fun to watch at all. I don't see Wilder having a whole lot of trouble with him. Breazeale and Whyte have already been knocked out by Joshua. To me, they're about as appealing as Joshua's fight with Molina (after Wilder stopped him). Who cares, really? They aren't beating Wilder, either. It's kind of a waste of time. Just a couple guys. (Breazeale barely survived Mansour. Chisora beat Whyte and Duhaupas destroyed Helenius/Whyte didn't.) Breazeale and Whyte just seem like stay-busy fights. I'd rather see the real thing.
Clearly Ortiz, Sasha, Parker are the non AJ ideals. I just hope Wilder fans appreciate that Whyte and Big Dom are much preferable fights than Molina 2, Martin or Fujimoto, and hold him accountable if he fights one of the latter 3 instead.
I am in no way I Wilder fan, as s world title holder, the guy is a joke who has been guarded very carefully for an almost 40 fight long career. How asinine is that? but personally I would like to see him fight ANYone who would be legit “challenger” fo the WBC world title, finally, after a 39, THIRTY NINE, fight career consisting of nobodies and has been. ....if not Joshua, I think ANY of these would take him out; Ortiz Fury Parker Povetkin And those are all “sure things” as to beating this clown . there are a few others that would stand a very good chance of beating Windmill as well Whyte Ruiz JR Bellew Haye Hell, maybe even Hughie, too
