Lewis is easily the greater heavyweight. Vitali just cannot compete with his resume.

Lewis also beat Vitali. OK, the short notice of the fight + way the win happened left quite a lot of unanswered questions, but it's a legit win none the less.

I will say though, I feel Vitali is a very underrated fighter in terms of where he ranks, and how he fairs in past eras. However, he's never had the opposition to prove it. Lewis is the only fighter that seriously troubled him. I know he lost to Byrd, but come on... nobody can consider that a truely legit defeat. Vitali chose, bizarrely in my opinion, to quit. Byrd certainly didn't do much to make him quit.

A bad version of Lewis beat a good version of Vitali, enough said. But if that isnt enough, then I dont get how Lewis, who was the Undisputed Champ, can be rated less than Vitali - he isnt the for sure best in the world - people all too often count the Klitschko's as one person who dominated the division - you cant do that, Vitali has never held or the titles or the most at one time.

I can't see Lewis at any stage taking ten rounds to beat Adamek, and still not put him down.

Vitali might not have the most impressive in depth quality legacy due to medoirce oppostion.

But you can only fight who is put in front of you.

Vitali has never been dominated in a ring.

    Not even by Lennox Lewis.
