Yeah, I took that into account in my post - I was saying that Joshua likely wants the Wilder fight next due to getting bogged down in what may be less glamorous mandos next...but either way he will likely draw very well on those fights regardless (see Takam for example). Povetkin is another option as WBA mando, and was built up on the Parker undercard. Either way, like it or not Hearn has a lot of options for Joshua for the remainder of this year and the first part of next year - which is why I was saying I think that he is playing a long game with Wilder. I would rather they fought next, especially as both guys seem to want it - but I can see how Matchroom are in much less of a rush than Haymon/Finkel due to having many more avenues to explore for the rest of 2018 (Miller for the US exposure - Pov mando WBA - potential Whyte rematch IBF - Fury after his comeback - Haye assuming he defeats Bellew..all these are very marketable fights for matchroom). Haymon/Finkel only really have breazeale as an option if Joshua isn’t next - and he is a Joshua KO victim, so not a super exciting prospect really. It sucks, but I understand the logic.
Wilder SHOULD want the fight. In one fight he will make 3x what he's made in his career up until this point.
You have to be high as a kite to believe Wilder doesn't want the fight. This will be his biggest pay day by a mile. Even if he falls on his face and is never heard of again he and his family will be taken care of after this fight. If he wins this is a career defining fight for him plus him winning promises a rematch with another big AJ payday. There is absolutely no reason DW doesn't want this fight. I think AJ wants it too as well as Hearn. I think Hearn is doing whatever he can to get one more fight in America without looking like AJ and him are ducking Wilder. Having AJ fight in the states before DW is the right business move. It increases the profile of the Wilder fight. If they both want to make as much as they possibly can on the fight they should fight back to back weeks on CBS. Then go into PPV fight in Vegas. Enters America's mainstream then. I think Wilder trying to push the fight next is the right thing and Hearn trying to delay it one more fight is too. They are both doing what's right.
I believe Hearn, but is appears as if Wilder will not fight Joshua next, he will fight Breazeale, Breazeale is owned by Haymon, been knocked out by Joshua, so that is perfect for Wilder. Wilder does not want to fight Joshua............
Some people talk so much rubbish, I don't know how some of you can actually believe the thoughts that go round in your head. I'm a brit, never been an out and out AJ 'fan' specifically - I'm just a boxing fan, I have fighters I follow etc but when it comes down to it may the best man win as far as I'm concerned, I just want to see good fights at the end of the day. So with that said, I feel like I do hold a neutral opinion. AJ has had 21 fights, he holds three of the main HW belts plus the IBO bauble and he's ranked number 1 by ring magazine. He's already had two unification fights, one with an ATG in Wlad and he's defended 5 times. So how anybody can even suggest Hearn doesn't want it or that AJ is ducking is on another planet. Yes we all know it was slghtly over the hill version of Wlad but that was still a very very dangerous fight and one they could have gone to lenghts to avoid, but no, it gets made and they put on fight of the year. The Parker fight, didn't really NEED to happen YET, but it gets made and failry easily once parkers team understood that the numbers were correct. So much so they are now already talking about going on AJ's future shows for goodness sake, because that's where the money is and they clearly aren't stupid. As far as Hearn trying to force the Wilder Whyte fight...that's just smart business. He can't say it but Hearn definitely fancies Wilder to beat Whyte. In which case the AJ fight becomes MASSIVE. Now if Whyte happens to beat Wilder that's a win for Hearn as well because then the AJ Whyte rematch becomes insanely massive from a UK POV. So either way it's a win for Hearn but 100% if Wilder Whyte fought first the match with AJ for the winner generates far more money. Now as far as that idiot Finkel goes with his reading of Hearns email, IMO he made their whole team look stupid. Even IF that's all they've ever had from Hearn (which I don't believe), where is the offer from their side to make the unification? Reading that email made it blatantly obvious that Wilders team have NEVER made an offer to AJ. Now if you truly believe YOU are the man in a division then should you not be the one making the offers and forcing the fights? Of course you should. But like Hearn said on IFL, Wilders lot CAN'T make an offer because all of the revenue would be generated by AJ and the UK PPV market lol. It's like me offering to split the money in your bank account and trying to make it sound like a good deal!! As far as this rematch rubbish goes....whichever way you slice itm whether Wilder wins the first fight or not, all the moeny is still brought to the table by AJ and the UK. So even IF Wilder won and then took the smaller slice again in a rematch, that's STILL two career high pay days and the chance to become undisputed HW king, it's a no brainer. HOWEVER, I believe these two guys will put on a barnstormer and therefore they should do a multi fight deal REGARDLESS of the result in the first fight and for the sake of fairness just make the rematch 60/40 in favour of the winner of the first, it ain't that hard guys is it. AJ opponents, specifically Wilder, need to stop concerning themselves with what AJ is making and start looking at the numbers they're making off the back of him. If wilder can make 5 times his biggest ever payday for example then what the hell is their problem? They would only be making that BECAUSE OF AJ!!! It's a very simple scenario that's being over complicated and Wilder fans talking absolute rubbish in the meantime. As an aside, if Fury comes back 80% of how he fought to beat Wlad, he takes both of the big stiffs to school anyway, so i'd start get serious about making the money while they can
