Who do you consider as the lineal champion in light heavyweight?

I have never given RING Mag credit for anything but their articles. their rankings are supposed to reflect the fans point of view. After Dlh took over, the magazine degenerated itself even further. Great stories were told by RING. Life long member. Not since Dlh took over. The man has to beat the man who beat the man.

 

Anyway, I'm so sick of these corrupt organizations rating fighters from the comfort of their air conditioned office, telling Champions who they should fight!

I say let the Champion decide who he should defend against. Just like Lennox Lewis said, he had the right idea.

 

I'm no expert. I'm a fan. I love sarcasm, but you can't turn Kov into a champion without beating the man.

 

When Rid**** Bowe threw that title in the garbage rather than face Lewis, lineal went out of the window!

 

Preach on! Who cares if they say Kov is the best, they don't know aything, they are corrupt, corrupt! If Stevenson says Bika is the best challenge, than Bika is hte best challenge. A lineal Champion knows what's good for his lineage.

 

Bowe was just putting Lewis' ideas into practice. Belts mean nothing, they are trash, the Champion makes the Champion, and if the Champion and his team determine there is no challenge, than they have the right to find another.

Bowe and Lewis, true heroes of lineage, sticking it to the man. Take their titles, trash them, you can't take their lineage.

 

Kov might be the best. I think that he is the best. I favor him to beat Stevenson. But......he still has to face Stevenson to be lineal.

Until Stevenson throws his title away, he is the lineal champion.

 

And Lewis still became the lineal champion lol... Bowe disgraced himself!

 

And so he will remain until the end of time if he choses. Stevenson can fight Bika over and over again, that is his right. Kov has no right. The lineage is Stevenson's to preserve as he sees fit.

 

No, Bowe was freeing himself from the shackles of corruption. The organizations are the disgrace. Lewis followed his example twice over to honor him.

 

Good talking to you Goose. Don't worry. The public will demand that he face Kov. He will live in infamy like Bowe did/does if he doesn't.

Bowe lost to Lewis in the Olympics by stoppage, and threw his title away rather than face him as a pro. I even forgot about the grreat Holy Bowe trilogy lol. J/k. Peace!

I agree with 'goose. Stevenson is the lineal champ. If he wants to fight Bika again or his wife that's fine too. Lineal champ calls the shots and his opponents.

 

That's why Gus Lesnevich is the GOAT.

People can talk all they want about Joey Maxim, Ezzard Charles, Marshall, Moore, Bivins,...etc. All these great 40s Light Heavies. But at the end of the day, he was the lineal Champion, baby. He was their Champion. He beat the man that beat the man, he was there first, they are all beneath him.

I think we should count all these guys he didn't see fit to defend against as scalps, making him the GOAT LHW.
