Aldo's win over Edgar is the greatest accomplishment of either fighter so I pick him.

Great win..... but did he really win?

He destroyed Frankie for 2 rounds

3rd round he was gassing, and Frankie started tagging him

    4-5 Were Edgar rounds

4 rounds easy to score, the 3rd debatable

Aldo looked P4P last night..... up until round 3

So i got to give it to Jones, who doesnt seem to tire when his brutalization fails to stop a particular granite foe

Great thread, and - Aldo. He's beating contemporaries wheareas Jones is being the new UFC hypeman and is making a name off of guys prime in 2005.

So it's ok for Jones to get his arm nearly ripped off by Vitor, but not ok for Aldo to beat Edgar more convincingly than the lightweight champ did?

    Jones made one slip

He still managed to destroy Belfort with one arm

Aldo looked every bit the p4p beast up til midway through round 3, then he started gettin his ass handed to him. When was the last time you saw Jones gettin his ass handed to him?

His ass handed to him? So frankie throwing pit pat shots while Aldo broke Edgar's nose every time he hit him, is Aldo getting his ass handed to him? Don't listen to Joe 'Marry me Edgar" Rogan next time.

I never saw Aldo "getting his ass handed to him" at any point during that fight.

Also, when has Jones taken on the recent title holder from the division above? I'm not holding the fact that Jones hasn't faced a former UFC Heavyweight champion against him. I'm saying that it is a situation he has been put in. Aldo faced the former lightweight champion, who is still in his prime, last night. A former champion that many thought is still the person deserving of that title.

how many noses does Edgar have to break?

as i said, Aldo destroyed him rounds 1 and 2

then he ran out of gas

    and Frankie took over

His ass handed to him is too strong, but Edgar dominated the last 2 rounds, with the 3rd being very contentious

Who the **** has Aldo fought besides Edgar? Look, Edgar is a legit P4P fighter and that was a great victory for Aldo, but who else has he beaten than puts Jones' resume to shame? Fact is that Aldo is an oversized 145er (who looked ****ing huge compared to the former LW Edgar last night) wasting his time in a shallow division full of B-level fighters. Last night is more proof that he should move up to LW.

So Jones loses face for getting caught in a sub for ten seconds but Aldo doesn't for getting mounted for an entire round by a mediocre kickboxer?

I ask again. Who besides Edgar on Aldo's resume is better than anybody that Jones has beaten? Faber? Mike Brown? Florian, who looked like he trained for the fight in a concentration camp? Manny Gamburyan?

I'll also point out again that Aldo looked like he was a weight class larger than the guy from the higher division.
