Wills streets ahead of Quarry. He was actually the supreme contender for years. Quarry was never the supreme contender.

Ellis was the first fighter between him and a belt. And he was good, but hardly exceptional in any way.

I don't really see the case for Choynski. Especially over Jackson, Langford and Wills.

I honestly think Ike Ibeabuchi was destined for greatness...He had the “IT” factor ...you knew you were watching something special

I had it 7-5 for George. I guess it's going into my backlog of things to rewatch. Report back soon.

The top five not to win the hw crown
    Wills
    Moore
    Loughran
    Harold Johnson
    Langford
Hard to pick one. These guys have the best wins amongst their peers and division I think. Some others would include Quarry, Mcvea, Jeanette, Bivins

He knocked out Jack Johnson and had draws/no-contests with Corbettt, Fitzsimmons and Jeffries. I would actually say that there is no argument to be made against him.

Jack Johnson wasn't near world class or a fraction as good as he'd become at the time.

    Jeffries was a novice

The Corbett no contest was due to police interference, they continued on a later date and Corbett won comfortably.

The Fitzsimmons draw was due to police interference. Choynski did had Fitzsimmons in some trouble, but Fitzsimmons had Choynski in trouble at the end, and was probably on his way to winning.

    a) Jerry Quarry. Such a fantastic fighter all around. Fighting in an insanely competitive era and having terrible management didn't stop him from making a notable legacy for himself.

    b) Andrew Golota. Fantastic fighter. Great physical attributes. Could have been a dominant heavyweight if it weren't for a few loose screws in his head.

It's very hard to find a top notch Heavyweight, who didn't have some sort of Championship Belt in his career. Even Langford and Wills actually held Championship "Belts." If we're talking a Lineal Heavyweight Championship Belt, then there are many great Heavyweights who never had that...
