As long as Fury, Povetkin and Lomachenko don't ever become the face of boxing to their fans im good. Kov is a better fighter than all 3 combined.
Lol typical american thinking his country is the ****. Tell me why the biggest PPV fighters over there are mexican and filipino and the most viewed boxer (non-ppv) is Kazakh. I know it may be hard to admit, but americans have destroyed boxing over there. It is great in every other country.
Americans have destroyed boxing? This is the type of inferior thinking of a dick riding boxing fan. He doesn't even live in this country and felt he should chime in and say some stupid ****, lmao. And what Mexican and Filipino boxers are you talking about? Knocked out Pac who can't sell ppv's anymore...or Canelo who sells 300,000 ppv's and gets "0" respect from the boxing world? Lol
Once again you jump to conclusions... I specifically said over in america. Boxing is doing great in the UK, hundreds of thousands of PPVs being sold. Joshua has the star-power to sell a 80,000 seater Boxing is as always thriving in Mexico, Canelo drawing 18 million viewers *27 million combined Klitschko selling out football stadiums in Germany as always and getting avg. 10 million viewers. GGG drawing millions in Kazakhstan for his fights. Keep in mind these countries are 60-120mil population, the states is 320 million... Then you have the U.S.A... Ward the face of american boxing can't even sell out his hometown arena, only 8k seats? Sorry, I have absolute no disrespect to the states, but when you come on here and say that none of us '****ers' will ever become a face of boxing to you... What happened to the good days when boxing fights drew over 70 million viewers? Americans simply don't seem to like boxing anymore. When you hear of ducking & dodging, not making fights - what fighters come to mind? Yeah, the american fighters. What do you expect when american fighters don't fight like the rest of the world? Sorry if I hurt your Patriotism, that wasn't intended. But I don't see how a fighter must be american to be the face of boxing to you...
Outside of boxing fans there are no household names instantly recognisable since Floyd retired. World wide casuals will have heard of Floyd and Klitchko I'm guessing from our current era.
I'm a lil surprised that Wilder didn't get any votes. I mean, he's the heavyweight champion of the world. I thought Americans love their heavyweight champions. Where's the love?
There isn't one. If you are talking best american fighter, it's obviously Ward. But I think the closest to a face we have is Wilder because he's a heavyweight champ and his been on NBC his last couple fights.
