No its not the same. Mayweather beat Baldo who beat Judah who was the UNDISPUTED welterweight champion.

Erdei beat Gonzalez, who beat DM who was AWARDED the lineal title for winning two of the three belts. The question is how did DM become the lineal champ in the first place??? Now some moron will come on here and say that DM beat Rocco who was the WBC champ because blah blah. But the fact remains that DM was never undisputed champ and therefore should have never been AWARDED the vacate lineal title.

Calzaghe is the only one that holds any real lineage Jones who unified all the belts-Tarver who beat Jones-Johnson who beat Tarver-Tarver who beat Johnson-Hopkins who beat Tarver-Calzaghe who beat Hopkins.

instead of VACATE title awarded to DM-Gonzalez beat DM-Erdei beat Gonzalez.:hi:

I agree with this---Jones Unified ALL THREE major titles after MS left the division so he should be seen and the undisputed champ. The new line starts with him after Spinks.

    Just my 2 cents.

Erdei is probably the linear champ, but he hasn't defended to anyone worth a crap in years.

Joe is currently the man at LH.

Well, lets see Calzage beat B-Hop who dominated Tarver, who dominated Woods and beat Johnson,Who really Beat Dawson....I would have to Say Calzage is the lineal champ and Tarver is close to the top contender....Edei is top 5, Johnson, then Jones....Dawson lost a lot of credibility with his last fight to Johnson, which I felt he lost.

    Joe Calzaghe of course.

I mean he doesn't deserve it, what with his inabilty to actually throw a punch and his terrible display against a 43 year old Hopkins.

But he's the champ non the less.

I guess the shots that had Dawson wobbling all over the ring were not clean, clear shots...when Dawson got on his bike and ran he was effective but Johnson came on with aggression and the stronger punches that had Dawson HURT several times...Johnson took Dawson's punches well and answered back for the most part. The fight was close but most felt Johnson did enough to win it.

regardless of your opinion, the fact is that dm beat virgil hill for the wba, ibf, and wbo titles. making him lineal.
and as far as jones unifying, realize that two of the belts that he unified, rightfully belonged to dm, for beating the recognized hollder of those belts in the ring. therefore, as long as dariusz was active, regardless of the politics, he was the only one with a legitimate claim to the ibf, and wba titles having won them in the ring, and not having been defeated.

and spin it any way you want, jones was never lineal. therefore erdei is today the lineal champion.

bad analogy, because cotto's wins over true ww are better than anything pbf has done in the ww division since winning the title, it still does not make him the true champion.

depends on how you look at it. If fighting bums and not being willing to fight a decent guy in order to keep a title belt makes you a champ and or a rightful belt holder then yes the two belts rightfully belonged to DM. HOWEVER what a guy like you that only see things in favor of ONE, I would like to point out that James Toney is actaully the rightful WBA title holder since Iran Barkley never lost the belt that Hill got in the first place. So as you can see that argument is ****.

Toss up between Calzaghe and Dawson. Dawson DOES have the better LHW resume in Harding, Adameck and Johnson; so I lean towards him.
