Ruiz my not be the most exciting guy out there, but i give him his due and he has beat alot of quality fighters MCCLINE,GOLATA,OQUENDO,RAHMAN,JOHNSON, HOLYFIELD 1-1-1,TUCKER,THUNDER....TO BEAT THOSE GUYS YOU HAVE TO BEAT A GOOD FIGHTER SO QUIT HATING ON THE QUITE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!
Holyfield is very skilled and had immeasurable heart and great conditioning. But let's not forget the numerous complaints about him using his head in fights(I'm not talking about his ring IQ) It's just that his abilities overshadows those questionable tactics. He's no saint but him being a hell of a fighter more than makes up. Ruiz possesses nothing truly special as far as skills and intangibles. He's decent at everything he does. I guess his one intangible he has is he refuses to quit or go away no matter how many setbacks he suffers(he easily could have crawled into a hole and died after his blowout by Tua and his embarrassing 12 round spanking by the smaller Roy Jones Jr.) Valuev I actually admire. He has worked hard to get to where he has gotten. His size is both a blessing and a curse; he's alot of heiht and mass to handle but it limits his speed and agility. He always displays class and respect towards his opposition. He's only really a beast towards old Haye and old security guards who harass his wife
Valuev. Ruiz deserves respect, the man has heart. He got robbed against that fraud twice and will still go on short notice to fight him KNOWING he can get robbed again. Other guys these days would cry, complain and threaten to retire, this guy keeps going.
When Valouev was in Atlantic City he trained like a mad man. He ran in deep sand with two very heavy bags on his shoulders!!! He knocked him 265 lb. opponent out with a left hook to the body breaking his ribs! Valouev can punch extremley hard whenever he so wants. Haye should not make him angry.
I thought this thread was about either Valuev or Ruiz. Oh well. Anyway. I find it impossible to dislike Valuev as a person even though he's a terrible boxer so Ruiz gets my vote.
