If Eubank manages to go the distance, it will do wonders for his marketability and will remove some of the fear GGGOD put into his weight class.

    1. It's obvious to anyone with a brain that Andre would have needed at least 1 tune up at 168.

    2. He hasn't made 168 in nearly 3 years.

    3. There was a reason why he fought Paul Smith at LHW.

For what it's worth, I think Andre would have beaten him, and I'd have cheered him on as I'm a much bigger fan of Andre's than what I am of GG's. If you knew me, you'd know how silly you look when you refer to GG as being my hero.

ya man...me too...im a way bigger fan of lil g than i am of andre! wayyyyy bigger!

lol...its funny...ward said he wanted to fight him in the fall of 15...if not spring of 2016....when ward said he needed tuneups it was before he fought paul smith..he was saying a tuneup or 2 in jan/march of 2015...thats when he made that statement....u act like he said he needed tuneups in october 2015...lol...by march of 2016 it would have been perfect...but lil g would rather face d wade and have canelo spit in his mouth....lol

I don't care what Andre said. Again, I'm a big fan of his, but I'm also a realist.

If you look objectively from both sides, a fight was never viable.

Are you seriously telling me that after 19 months out, that Andre was going to have back to back fights in quick succession? What makes you think that? He fought Smith at LHW, then a few months later he'd have made SMW for the first time in over 2 years? You really, honestly believe that? He had a further 9 months out after Smith before fighting Barrerra. Again, you're living in a fantasy.

Even if Andre had been serious and he'd have been able to have taken the fight, put yourself in GG's position. Late last year, GG had 2 MW belts and was in line to fight the winner of Canelo-Cotto in what would have been a huge unification fight. So why on earth would GG have wanted to have fought Andre at that point? It wouldn't have been in his best interests, in the same way that it's not in Andre's best interests to fight Kovalev straight away.

You need to be objective and look at things from all perspectives.

stop saying "you need to be objective" acting like you are

    look at what you said

"Are you seriously telling me that after 19 months out, that Andre was going to have back to back fights in quick succession? What makes you think that? He fought Smith at LHW, then a few months later he'd have made SMW for the first time in over 2 years?"

ward fought smith at a cw...not the full limit...to keep himself as close to 168 as he was to lhw....they fought at 172......because he thought he might possibly have a chance at having to go back.....once he realized lil g wanted no part and moved on he went to full 175 against barrera......paul smith even came in overweight for the cw...ward came in under 172.....if ward couldnt make 172 or didnt want to stay close to 168 he could have just made the smith fight at 175...smith came in at 176 at the weigh in!!!

ward was bascially showing everyone he was working on staying close to 168 if he had to be in the event lil g wanted to fight him there....he came in under 172 for smith

you say things like "i dont care what andre said ".....and then say yer a fan....but andre is known as a straight shooter and his word is seen has pretty solid in the boxing world and in boxing circles....lol

Again, you're living in a fantasy.

    Andre has a huge ego.

I don't care whether you believe I'm a huge fan of his or not.

The past 4.5 years of his career speak for themselves.

Why are you quoting weights from the Smith fight?

Back in the real world, Andre wants 2-3 tune ups before he fights Kovalev. Yet you're trying to convince yourself that after hardly fighting within the last 4.5 years, he was ready and willing to have fought GG at 168, a weight that he hasn't made for 3 years?

    Answer my other questions:

    1. Do you agree that it wasn't in GG's best interests to have fought Andre this year, even if the fight had definitely have been available?

    2. Did Andre duck Adonis Stevenson?

lol...now you wanna dismiss the smith fight weight and act like you have no idea why i mentioned it...even though i just explained it to you....stop acting like yer objective.....you are not....i explained it very well in my last post.....maybe you need to go read it again

i already also explained that no he did not duck stevenson...hell be facing someone more highly rated than stevenson....if he ducks that guy then yes hes a ducker...will lil g ever fight anyone as good as ward or kovalev? the answer is no and we all know that...hes too busy waiting for miguel cotto and canelo...lol

you asked me about why i thought ward could make 168 for the fight...because you said you didnt think he could...i explained why and how the smith fight was an indicator....then yer asking me "what do the smith fight weights have to do anything"...i mean...u cant make this stuff up....you have alot of nerve questioning anyone elses intelligence

ill be honest...im not objective about lil g anymore...i was once...a couple years ago...i looked at him objectively...and gave him the benefit of the doubt....and since then hes erased any chance of me being objective about him...hes confirmed my worst fears about him

you cant talk about "circumstance" all you want....but fighters can create their circumstances too......just like lil g has created his current one...still no big fight....no boost in recognition that he was hoping to get off cotto/canelo.....and staring at nothing special in the future.....meanwhile ward have a career/legacy defining fight in front him......circumstances are tied to what the fighter creates...some sit back and let circumstances happen...others make moves and create circumstances....lil lets them happen...and hes more than happy taking bum mandos and collecting those checks...he dont like fights hes not favored in...

Eubank or BJS seem the best (likely) options. Failing that, maybe Khurtside.

Jacobs doesn't seem to want it and we know about Canelo and N'Kijam.

    The Shockmaster,

I asked why you had mentioned them, because I'm well aware of what they were.

Right, so you're saying he didn't duck Stevenson as he looks to be fighting a more dangerous fighter?

    Ha!

Let's say that Kovalev beats Ward and then a few years later GG ends up fighting Kovalev?

    Then what?

Would I then be able to say to you that he didn't duck Andre as he was fighting a more dangerous guy who'd beaten him?

    Would you accept that?

    Ha! Yeah right.

If GG beat a CW you'll alway accuse him of ducking Ward.

What if Ward doesn't end up fighting Kovalev for whatever reason?

What if Andre had decided to have remained at SMW?

I wonder what your answer would have been at that point?

I questioned the likelihood of Andre being able to have had 2 back to fights, one at a weight he hadn't hit in over 2 years.

The Smith fight wasn't an indicator of anything. That's just how you've interpreted things.

    Wow!

    You've even admitted it.

So there's no point in continuing then is there?

    As above.

After what you've wrote, there's literally no point in anyone debating with you.

    It's pointless.

the ward/lil g saga is when i stopped giving lil g the benefit of the doubt....it was so terrible to see

heres ward..on the shelf..not fighting.....and heres lil g trying to make fights with froch and chavez(ok those are money fights..fair enough...i aint mad at tryna make them) saying "anyone to 168"...........then ward is available again...and hes talkin bout lil g....making some headlines talkin bout how hed like it.....

then abel sanchez is out there saying the complete opposite of what happened...."oh when ward was on the shelf he was making noise...saying gggs name like he wanted to fight him..now that hes available to fight hes gone quiet"....lol...yaaaaaaaa....ok

so ward mentions him in the late winter of 2015 before hes come back....then he starts really ramping up the talk in june/july...but of course he wants to get in the ring and shake some rust off...but hes letting g know he wants the fight..and of course were hearing how ward "aint relevant" and brings nothing to the table......he fights smith .....and hes available to start talking but lil g aint thinkin about him....ward actually reaches out in september(not knowing theyve been trying to make lemieux and have it pretty much done)......ok...fair enough...do your lemieux fight...thats cool....but what about when yer done? "well we have other plans to unify and stuff...but maybe in 2017 it might be possible".....now of course this in september of 2015...and now they cant even think about fighting ward at all in 2016?...it became painfully obvious they wanted no parts of that and wanted ward to go to lhw so they wouldnt have to hear about him anymore....

and then the "anyone to 168" line became "what he meant was money fights man...thats what he really meant....oh ward is too big...but froch and uhhh chavez they are big but they are more worth it ya know...cuz uhhh money...its all about risk/reward...even though we used to say risk reward is stupid and we dont care about money...we used to say that you should fight for legacy and the fans...and to see who the best is...we dont say that anymore though"

its pathetic....stop trying to act like the fight was never feasible

ward stayed under 172 for the smith fight in the event that he had to go back to 168.....im actually sad for andre ward...i think he might have actually thought for a minute that lil g had nuts....its kinda the way i felt for most of you when you actually thought canelo might have nuts
