Who do you have as your p4p number 1?

Pacquiao. For Martinez to be in the running for number 1, disregarding whatever Pacquiao does, he'd have to pretty much (in my eyes; I know haters will debase any of these wins) do a combination of the following:

i. Go down to 154 and beat Pac. The win would be even more awesome due to the fact that he has already begun filling into 160.

ii. Go up to 168 and beat Bute and/or Super 6 competitors.

iii. Beat some of the kings at 175. Perhaps a catch weight can be contracted?

 

Pacquiao - keeping in mind the guy could almost certain make 140 still, and possibly 135, the fact that he's beating top names is truly phenomenal. It's got to be said that most of his recent opposition potentially has questionmarks against them, and fighting Mosley is desperately disappointing, but he still belongs here.

Donaire - listen people, his last 2 wins have been against top quality fighters on the top of their game, AND he's absolutely destroyed them. If Darchinyan wasn't 3 whole years ago, he'd have a case for being number 1.

Martinez: IMO he suffers from not having enough quality opposition around. His best win is still the victory over Pavlik, as Dzinziruk was undersized and unproven, and Williams is a blown up Welterweight. Yes, you heard me. Actually, Williams is easily one of the ballsiest fighters around, and doesn't get nearly enough credit for fighting 2 weight classes above where he should be.

Mayweather: Simply suffers for having fought only once in the last 18 months and sporadically before that. His win over Mosley is probably the weakest bit of form too in the top 4.

Actually, I'm seriously wondering if Marquez should be number 3 over Martinez. IMO he should be.

 

Forget the Pac fight, and to hell with catchweights. Option 2 is the only viable way.

 

1. Pac - long consistent top performance. Not perfect but I think that is more of a case of higher expectations for a living ATG. If Berto beat the crap out of Cotto, Margo and Clottey everyone in ESB would suck his d!ck and put him #2 and Martinez #1.
2. Martinez - He can take #1 if Pac puts a poor performance vs Mosley AND Martinez beats one of the top guys at 168. There is no one at 160 and below to give him case to go higher. Some would say beating Pirog but he is kind of a name because 160 is barren of good comps.

PBF should be #2 but he is inactive and has nothing planned to hold that spot. I don't believe in that BS Spad fight. I think that is another rumor from non credible source like the Matthew Hatton rumor from last year.

 

Pacquiao has done a hell of a lot more, but since I like Martinez a bit more, I'll put him as #1.

 

P4P as in recent achievements i have Martinez at nr 1. Hes done the most and looked really impressive in his last three outings.

 

Pacquiao for sure.

Floyd needs to fight before he is in the mix. Marquez and Mosley money making fights doesn't make you p4p1

And for me Pac is still number one. He still looks absolutely unbeatable in all of his fights. He is destroying guys much bigger than him. Until he shows signs of slowing down or has a bad fight, he will keep the #1 spot in my eyes.
