Love them both but I've always favored Toney for the reason he'll fight anyone. He still calls out the Klitschkos lol. To be honest if there was a welterweight version prime RJJ, Floyd would most likely never fight him.

It could go either way at this point, imo. If you completely discount what he's done at heavyweight and the farcical nature of that, has Mayweather ever, even once, had a win tantamount to the undefeated Michael Nunn being knocked out by Toney? Toney is so underrated it's criminal. But he invites a lot of it himself. He's been very inconsistent. Mayweather's consistency through five weight classes might be enough, but Toney's actual wins are better, imo.

:goodYeah I agree and one thing Toney has been consistent on is calling out whoever(well Toney has been inactive lol). If Mayweather had Toney's balls, he would've already fought Pacquiao by now.

Or they evaluated who has fought the better competition.

James Toney holds two victories over The Body Snatcher, Michael Nunn, Evander Holyfield, and Vasily Jirov.

Floyd Mayweather Jr is probably a top 50-60 ATG...with James a few spots behind.

I'm hesitant to make a pick. Ultimately, I'd go with Mayweather, but JT isn't that far behind.

YOU ****ERS CAN'T BE SERIOUS WITH THIS BULL****!!

i don't like floyd but he his far superior to james toney.

to start with, james toney is a proven banned anabolic steroid taking disgrace, his achievements should be scrubbed from the records books :-(

WTF is it about americans and their delusional double standards? :nut

toney has one great win when he beat micheal nunn, despite toney getting his head boxed off for 10 rounds and being way behind on all 3 judges score cards.

lets look at toneys career further

a draw against 24-11 sanderline williams - sensational performance :rofl

fortunate split decisions over dave tiberi and reggie johnson

2 defeats at the hands of midget montell griffin

jirov is a ****in eurobum for ****sake, theres nothing funnier than you guys hyping up a eurobum when it suits you  :rofl

beating barkley - whoopiedoo, beating barkley after duran had beat him at middleweight and after nigel benn had completely demolished barkley in one round :nut

beating a senile, deluded holyfield - don't even get me started on that, we saw toneys real class at heavyweight when he got his ass kicked twice off of the mighty samuel peter

why didn't toney fight the likes of eubank, hopkins, benn, collins, mcclellan? :huh

seriously, you guys need to lay off your delusional hyping of the likes of toney and hopkins, they've had their asses kicked on numerous occasions. the praise they recieve on esb off deluded, brain washed americans is mind blowing.

Toney was awesome and his wins over Barclay, Nunn and Jirov are sensational. Titles at three weights and the old school style is great to watch.

However, Mayweather has taken titles from Super Feather to Junior Middleweight and despite his detractors has beaten some quality opposition. Hernandez, Castillo, Corrales, Judah, De La Hoya and Mosley is a good line up. Floyd is also undefeated and does not absorb punishment.

    Answer: Floyd.

    Hey Dude

Could you list the amount of fighters that Eubank avoided? It's also worth noting that anytime Collins met a good/ great fighter in his prime he got his ass kicked. He made a career out of beating fossils.

You clearly can't stand Hopkins but to be competing in his 40's against some of the best fighters in the world is inspiring.

i'm not a specialist on eubank, all i know is that toney dissed him and then was no where to be seen when a match should have been made.

you probably have a point with collins, though collins was a late developer, his prime was near the end of his career, toney was probably wrestling sumo's by that point

Who kicked Hopkins ass? Calzaghe could barely land anything of significance on him and neither could Taylor. Also Toney had a close fight with Peter in the first fight that could've gone either way he only got his butt kicked by Peter in the rematch. And be honest did you even watch Nunn-Toney? Toney turned the momentum in the final rounds with bodypunching so that he could score the ko. Love you man but admit it you have a bad reputation to be too judgemental and ignore the facts.
