I have Pep slightly ahead these days on an ATG basis, though in a literal sense you're splitting hairs, they really have different styles if you watch closely.

Pep.He was in the two best of his division ,I cant say that for Pea in any division ,though he was a great fighter,I rate Pea a better boxer than any who have come after him, including PBF.

Pea was beautiful in his complexity and in his resume, but I go with Pep with but little hesitation.

Pep had 200 fights more than Pea. He had 40 bouts by the time he was 22 - like most others during the golden age. In terms of being in there, taking shots and plying your trade, Pea was comparatively a novice.

Now, had Pep not beat Saddler in the rematch after the plane crash, I'd edge Pea over him based on conquests, but Pep's resume is not nearly as void of challengers as some make out here and that win
    was
    absolutely
    extraordinary.

Pep better resume his record is amazing, plus he has one of the greatest wins in boxing history.
