Obviously it would be a tremendous storyline for Jones to win somehow. Who wouldn't want to see it aside from Calzaghe's staunchest?
I'd love to see RJJ Jr come out and deliver a performance like he used too, an angry, pissed off, "**** you for doubting me" performance and dominate Calzaghe.
This is how I see it, though I like Joe, and I won't be to dissapointed if they hoist Calzaghe up after the win, which is what I expect to see.
I just hope it's a good fight. I think it's all up to RJJ to determine if this will be a good fight or a disappointment. We know what JC brings to the table. RJJ has to take some chances in order to win. If he shows up like he did in the third Tarver fight, then Calzaghe wins a comfortable but boring fight.
15-0 tells me one thing. No way is Calzaghe over-rated.. no one seems to like him, they just ****ing respect what he does.
calzaghe's a class fighter. but what pisses people off is that he doesnt want to fight the best fighters that are available to him - and yet he still thinks he's a legend. if he was born in the US he wouldn't have the luxury to pull the wool over people's eyes like that.
Pavlik is the only guy people are pissed offf about ..But to be honest he''s not the best fighter available to him ..The other title holders at 175 are more of a challenge .But Hopkins was defiantlythe best possible oppoennt for him to fight but since the fight was ugly now people turn on him ..
Cmon? Who does? Why did Jones Jr never face DM, Hopkins (rematch), Toney at 190lb?, Benn?. Every single fighter out there has claims that they've ducked fighters, everyone. Margarito was trying to get away from Williams, IIRC. Calzaghe has done enough to earn the respect he's built. He's got a HOF career, ATG #1 at 168 in terms of accomplishment and he's beaten his fair share of Ring rated contenders over the years. He doesn't have an ODLH type career (who else does?), but then he also doesn't have 5 losses neither
