I like DLH more, simply because I have been following his career since the day I saw him make L.A. hero Chicanito Hernandez quit on his stool. That was 14 years ago. I don't care much about Manny's persona. Nothing about him really stands out to me.
For ****'s sake, can we start pitting two contenders in the same weight class together anytime soon? It seemed like a good idea back when they were doing it........
As a fighter I like his explosiveness. As a person, I have no emotional connection to him. MAB Vargas DLH Mayorga Judah Manfredy Corrales Morales and even Hatton I like beyond boxing, like people. All based on their character. Manny, I don't care much for.
There are things to like and dislike about both, but at least ODLH fought the best out there in their prime. Manny hasn't done that and it doesn't look like he's ever going to at this point. ODLH is helping him, so wtf.
Nice but a mam that has 6 kids and only says he misses two of them on internal television is an *******. Imagine what his other kids are feeling when they see that ****..
Fighters moving up for bigger challenges makes the sport more exciting: Duran-Leonard, Robinson-Lamotta, Mosley-DLH, Leonard-Hagler, Pryor-Arguello. Duran had a couple of fights at 147 before he beat Leonard. Robinson never weighed over 146 and faced middleweight Lamotta (still weighing under the welterweight limit). Arguello had one tune-up at 140 before facing the best super-lightweight in history for the title. Mosley jumped up two divisions to face De La Hoya after a tune-up or two. What do they all have in common? They're some of the best fights the sport has ever seen. There are countless other examples too: Hopkins moving up two divisions to school Tarver, Robinson moving up to 175 to face Joey Maxim (and was taking him to school, would've won save for the heat), Henry Armstrong beat ATG Barney Ross for the welterweight crown weighing only 133 pounds before he went on to win the lightweight crown and already held the featherweight crown, Ezzard Charles started at 160 and won the HW crown, and was also the best LHW of all time... I could go on forever. The sport needs the best fighters to move up and pursue greatness, that's the way it's always been. But these days everyone has a ***** and moan about a few pounds (I'm not talking about this fight, I'm talking in general). Harden the **** up, Pac is going to be very, very competitive, size is overrated!
