I honestly think he needs one more great performance tune up match. Let Canelo have a tune-up also. And then they can get it on!

1 - Martinez : I think it would be a good fight if Cotto came forward, and it would give Martinez a chance to get that 'blockbuster' win in terms of star power at least. And would give Cotto a chance to get his best W to date.

    2 - Canelo

3 - Mayweather 2 : If Cotto was with Roach and in the form that he was in last weekend, it would be a fight I wouldn't mind seeing again. The first one was a good fight. Its possible that both show up even sharper then they were for their first fight and put forth an even better, higher level fight.

    4 - Trout 2

Well, I'd prefer that he picked up a belt from Molina and retire, but it looks like he's going for history against Martinez. I'll be rooting for him but he'll need to fight the perfect fight and hope that Sergio is rusty to pull that one off. Sergio, when 100%, is just a little too long and mobile for a smallish(by middleweight standards) stalker like Cotto.

I agree but I think he (and his team) are concerned that another tune up will only slow down his momentum and kill any buzz generated from his destruction of Delvin Rodriguez.

Marquez if he beats Timbo, that's one intriguing fight right there

Canelo does not deserve another shot at greatness yet, he needs to stay in his lane some more and rise to the top again. Cotto and Martinez makes the most sense.

Canelo is certainly the best choice for action of the big names he could go after.

I wouldn't mind Cotto vs. Maravilla, Cotto vs. Trout II, or Cotto vs. Mayweather II - but none would have the potential to really explode that Cotto vs. Canelo would. Plus there is the whole "avenging my brother" angle...that always makes it juicy. :hey

Neither of them are typically all that exciting to watch...

Stylistically, both would clash with Cotto something awful.

However, if the idea were more "what is the easiest path to a world title at 154 for Cotto" then yes would be the route.
