While I dont picture myself as a any fighter but myself, I like to study Kessler and Trinadad because we share similar body types and physical attributes.
This would be tough. I love my jab. I throw a quick stiff jab and like to double it up when i throw it. My right hand is heavy. I injured my friends chin once when i caught him with it flush and this guy outweighed me by 50 pounds. Fight ended right there. I would say Rafa Marquez because of the jab but i have a pretty heavy right kinda like Pavlik since it's thrown very straight. I dont like my uppercuts though.... Im a 150 lb Rafa Marquez.
When I shadow box I picture myself with Roy jones unorthodox offense and pretty boy's philly shell defense. I switch up to Cotto every now and then.
I picture myself a dlh/trinidad left hook boxer, but with a Hearns right hand, and in the fantasy I wear a pompadour like Elvis and wear aviator sunglasses in the ring that no one can knock off. Then I picture myself fighting Foreman in his prime and using his chin as a speedbag. Best of all, I picture myself in a big house full of hot blondes.
When I am running and getting tired and want to psyche myself up and get that last bit in, I picture warriors, guys like Morales, when theyre in the ring in wars how they would never give up, theyre stumbling around, dead tired, about to fall down, but they keep on going. It sounds really gay but it gives me inspiration and that mental boost to keep going.
I picture myself as Sugar Ray Leonard, Cassius Clay and Roy Jones. I guess you could call me Sugar Ray Clay Jones Junior. Many thanks, Anthony.
I used to try to perfect a solid stand up jab and move style , with a very hard right hand behind it.. Tyrell Biggs , very talented but never caried it off in the pro's.. I am 6 ft 3 and 225..
Its not about trying to be someone else, its about emulating what makes a great fighter successful in the ring. Thats how we homo sapiens learn, by imitation.
