I do not pay attention to H20 fighters, but I do respect your opinion. Joe Frazier's opponents as lineal champion were not that dangerous except George Foreman. Muhammad Ali was as rusty as a gate in 1971. In 1967 it would have been a better fight, but Yank Durham did not want Joe in the ring with Ali back then, Joe was ready, he beat George Chuvalo in 1967. Bob Foster was a light heavyweight, Terry Daniels and Ron Stander were not life threatening at all, except for some trick or treaters, who were afraid that they might steal their candy.
Most of Marciano's contemporaries considered Dempsey to be much better. Wonder what you make of that?
Agreed. Marciano has Walcott, Moore, and Charles. While Frazier only has Ali. Forget Quarry, Ellis, etc. Seems fair.
I'd pick Frazier to batter Marciano (bigger and faster) but I think either or is fine on an ATG list.
Which ones? That's hard to believe as Dempsey never beat anyone as good as Charles, or Walcott. Perhaps Moore as well. Rex Layne maybe Rocky's 6-7th best win was being hyped as the next Jack Dempsey by some.
To me those three are higher than any of Fraziers wins bar Ali. Guys like Lastarza and Layne were also highly rated when Marciano beat them. He's also got the "undefeated" aura going for him and Frazier not so much. Although - to be fair - Marciano might not be undefeated if he'd fought Ali and Foreman. On the eyetest, Frazier looks better. On actual reliability and metronome type consistency, Marciano. It's a matter of taste I guess.
Marciano beat everyone that was around and went undefeated in doing so, there was no more he could’ve done
Marciano beat the better men..walcott and louis would beat ali.... Ali hit like a little girl comparably
Well Dempsey thought Marciano his better. But I get ur point some people view the past with rose tinted glasses.
