Who do you rank higher all-time pound-for-pound: Felix Trinidad or Joe Calzaghe?

Calzaghe. I think he's a bit more useful in terms of raw talent. Quicker and more versatile. Took him ****ing long enough to start getting some good scalps however!
As for resume, I hate to do that "go through a list of victories and look at them in the worst possible light", but I'm in the general forum so what the hell!:D

Blocker,Whitaker were past there sell by date.
Vargas was beaten by a series of well time low blows that would've made Ken Buchanan wince, and I think Oscar whipped his arse anyway, no matter what Prescott says!

Reid and Joppy were good wins, Carr and Campas not too shabby.
None of these guy were as good as Hopkins ,Kessler or even an ageing Eubank.
Hopkins put Felix in his place in spectacular fashion.

If you give Trinidad credit against Oscar and Vargas then I can see why you'd have him well ahead of Joe, but he should've been disqualfied against Vargas and I'll repeat, Oscar whipped him.

I don't agree with your post, but I respect your opinion, you make the case well, but please drop that part about the Vargas fight, that's lame.

    Calzaghe H2H p4p everything.

Lets say Tito was a natural 168lber and fought Calzaghe, I believe Tito would lose every round. Tito doesnt do well against boxers, and I feel someone with the speed advantage of Calzaghe would counter-punch him all night long as Tito comes forward. Whilst Tito would definatly have the power advantage, ring smarts and adaptability he doesnt have in lumps and even if Tito does start well I feel joe would adapt as he always does.

Resume wise, I favour Joe aswell. Ok, Tito did win titles in 3 weight divisions and the win over Vargas was amazing Ive watched that fight so many times its still one of my favourites and will be for ages to come. But Tito won a belt at 160 as opposed to beating the champion at 160. When he did face the champion in hopkins he lost every round.

TO BE HONEST, there's not that much in it and I understand the arguements for putting Tito first above Joe on resume alone. But I feel if Joe beats Roy Jones then he will then have yet another win (hopkins) against someone who Tito has lost to (dominated).

In the 'greater legacy' poll three weeks ago Felix Trinidad beat Calzaghe 55-11,but this poll is alot closer for some reason.

    Trinidad by a lot..

this is not about records or h2h, in which I believe Calzaghe wins in both categories.

Prime for primes get outta here.

put it this way....Imagine if Tito never ventured above 154 lbs and just cleaned up and waited for fighters to come up and fight MUCH lesser competition like Calzaghe did, Tito could possibly had NEVER lost.

at age 28, Calzaghe would had NEVER moved up in weight 7lbs to fight Roy Jones Jr. to test himself against the best. He's even admitted he could n't **** with RJJ in his prime, unllike Tito who challenged himself against BHOP and obviously failed. but in retrospect that loss looks better as the years go by.

that's kinda what tito did for a lot of his ibf welterweight title reign.

he fought some real duds in those 17 defences.

a few good names but still nothing special.

he got away with it against oscar.

notice he never fought winky at 154. :yep

the wheels would have come off before he even got to middleweight if he had. :patsch

Both will have losses to Jones on their resume. Calzaghe will have stayed off his ass, however.
