Definately Trinidad. Just the Vargas win by itself is better than anything Calzaghe has ever dreamed of doing.

Tito EZ....look at who he beat, and then ask yourself who didn't he fight?

better head to head also, in his prime and best weight class....

Last time I did a list I had Joe at #14 and Tito #15 as the greatest fighters over the last 20 years. So you could go either way. Calzaghe has the better skill set, but Tito the better resmue.

Disagree, its simple unless you think far too much into it & complicate it for yourself.

Just look at Trinidad`s style in his best weight class/classes, look at how he deals with certain styles, how he responds to certain things in the ring then do likewise with Calzaghe & imagine both being in the same weight class, its just the same as imagining 2 MWTs that fought in different era`s facing each other.

    I give JC the H2H p4p match-up.

The p4p all time ranking contest is closer, Tito is more popular & may win more votes (by fans) but when both are retired, the fact that Joe is undefeated & the fact that Tito has lost very clearly to other great fighters to put it mildly should be enough to place Calzaghe ahead of him on the `experts` lists.

    Just my opinion.

    :thumbsup

Calzaghe has never been completely dominated either like Tito was by Hopkins and Wright. Especially in his prime. (Hopkins) Tito should have a loss to Oscar as well.

Then again Tito would not have struggled with a Robin Reid like fighter.

Tito's problem is that he is mostly a one dimensional fighter whether he is 25 years old or 35 years old.

Calzaghe is the more complete fighter. Its like the highlight of both fighters are the things they each lack..

Calzaghe lacks that huge devastating power that Tito carries around, and Tito lacks the footwork and insane workrate that Calzaghe has. Calzaghe is better than Tito on to many levels for me to call Tito the better all time pound for pound fighter, though I really would like him to be.

Calzaghe never went up 3 weight classes and fought a fighter like a prime Hopkins either. The Wright fight was him past his prime and having 1 fight in 2 year. I think he won the Oscar fight only because Oscar ran like a *****.

Calzaghe's talents are better then many many fighters.......... But that doesn't mean he's better P4P then they are. Calzaghe never proved himself against a great prime fighter and never will.

Yeah that is almost like Calzaghe moving up a year ago and fighting David Haye. I think Calzaghe fairs better in head 2 head matchups but Tito was really tested in his carrer. He fought the best.

JC, simply because no one has yet or may ever figure out the puzzle that is Joe Calzaghe while Tito, as great as he was, was figured out by 4: DLH, Bhop, Winky, and RJJ... Mostly Winky, not so much RJJ.
