Thses do not agree, they are opposites.

 

its worth adding that joe didnt defend the unified titles like ward did at all apart from bika.
Joe didnt unify all the titles at all. He unifed ibf with wbo briefly, dropped ibf and later unified wbo with kesslers, immediately dropping them.
joes were defenses were for an unrecognised body until 2005, meaning he made either 6 or 7 recognised defenses comparable to wards.

Or a few years earlier because he would have been in the mix with Benn, Eubank, Collins etc. Spot on though it was a real shame, I remember reading an article about Joe and he even said it himself he wished he was born a bit earlier because without the huge rivalries he was relatively unknown until late on in his career.

 

Judging on the fights he had and the belt to favoured, I doubt joe would have mixed it with Benn, but perhaps Eubank and Collins would have been possibles for him. Though my suspicion is he would have waited till they were older. More likely he would have fought 40somethings guys like Park, to get a name on his resume. Another possible would be the shot 45 year old Sugar Ray Leonard, whom joe would say barely win a split decision over gassing leonard, after being completely outboxed early on.

He turned down his mando with elite Froch in the present so theres no reason to think he'd do different in any different time period.

 

So clearly Calzaghe. Cant believe this is even in question

I know Joe said Jones was shot. I already addressed that and already gave my reasons as to why it was still considered a good win for Joe. Tell me this....did Joe say in his book that the win over Jones was not a good performance or a good win?

Look....I'm not trying to make you get all flustered or make you "give up". There's no need to get all in your feelings over this. I'm just giving you perspective on boxing as a whole. Well once again... like in so many Calzaghe vs Ward type threads.. the people have spoke and Super Joe comes out on top by around 70%. There's still faith in humanity.

 

It shocks me that it is a question. Calzaghe had done more at SMW long before he fought Lacy with wins over Reid, Woodhall, Eubank, Sheika, Starie, Brewer, Mkertchyan, Mitchell by a long way, yet these fools still come out with rubbish.
