I'm just considering the source. You telling me anything is a "fail" is worth about as much as a whores confession at a brothel. No offense. Joe has his own mind and can think and feel any way he wants. I'm not trying to influence him one way or the other nor do I believe this particular subject is in scope for the ring legend

He fought Peter Manfredo in one of his last fights lol. Then was gifted a decision vs Hopkins and beat the skeleton of Roy Jones.

Calzaghe is so overrated on this forum, it's comical.

JCC's last fight was against Grover Wiley, Tommy Hearns last fight was against Shannon Langnerg, Wilfredo Benitez last fight was against Scott Papasodors...There are so many examples of great fighters taking on light touches in their last fights it makes Joe look like he was on a mission

No Calslappy was different. He avoided fighting in America his entire career, and used that as an excuse to avoid all the top fighters. For example, prime Roy Jones, by saying Jones had to come to Europe to fight him, when he knew damn well Jones wouldn't.

So he piles up a good career and resume fighting at home. Which I can't knock him for, it was good business. He beats up Lacey. Which at the time was a good fight, but not so good in hindsight.

Then has his huge American debut against....Peter Manfredo. This wasn't his farewell fight or retirement fight. This was his showcase fight to the American public. Can you imagine the backlash that would go on if Andre Ward fought a guy on Manfredos level???

Calzaghe had a good career and was a great fighter. But his resume is weak and he is overrated.

Did Calzaghe fight Manfredo in the US?

I thought so. It was definitely on television in US and the reason Manfredo was chosen was because he was known in the US market.

Two different levels of fighters. Calzage was a master B leaguer and Ward was a master A class fighter.

thats ok that you think joe telling you to your face that you are blatantly wrong, has the worth of a whores confession..

its good that you are destroying the guy that you are trying to defend, and that hes destroying you.

You're in a dark place with this aren't you? Worried about you.. I'm surely not being destroyed in any way over this and I'm positive I'm not having any kind of impact on Joe where his life is being affected to this extent. You on the other hand seem to be really consumed by this whole thing. I would suggest taking a break from message boards as a whole and try focusing on more important things in life. Something that will bring you out of this emotional state you're in. Joe's legacy shouldn't bother you this much.

Problem with Calzaghe is that he played it safe with his belt and when he finally stepped up he did look terrific. However Ward has faced top opposition and I think his resume despite having less defenses is way more impressive then Calzaghes, becomming the undisputed champion in two divisons is pretty darn impressive given who he had to beat to get there.
